Hello all,

ah well, just to throw something else at me to deal with I now have to start eye-drops for Glaucoma

Anyway, so be it. But just wondering if anyone on here has this condition and is it ok to use these drops while on MTX?

Jackie x

Hi Jackie, sorry to hear it. My wife has the same problem, severe in one eye and progressing in the other. There are a large number of drugs they can use and my wife has gone through them all. Some Beta blockers can cause real problems so you're right to check. When the medication couldn't help any more she had surgery, three times, and now, thankfully it's holding steady.

    Hi Jackie,

I am sorry you have that as well. I haven't my self but my mother did and she also had 2 opps on it as well as drops but as Donbon says the beta blockers do have side effects (I was on them for a while and they lowered my already low bp so I kept blacking out) so make sure before you take them. Good luck and not everyone has to have surgery. Luv Cris x

Hi Jackie, sorry you have yet another problem to add to the bag. I would check with a pharmacist if you can take the two.

I hope the RA side is doing well.

    Take care

    Hi,
Thanks for replies, I have been reading the leaflet on glaucoma the doc gave me.

I was really scared the other day - not so much now as sooo many people have or know of someone who has this condition, and it seems to be possible to control it without completely losing your sight (which absolutely terrifies me).

If anyone else has positive comments I'd love to hear from you too :)
