Hello,

I am going to jamaica in March and I asked the nurse about this. It's a ten hour flight, enbrel levels stay for about 2 weeks in your body and how can you be sure that a cool bag will keep it at the right temperature? So I decided that I am not taking it with me, yes I am at risk of a flare, but if I injected on holiday, the enbrel may be ruined anyway.

As Enbrel users are aware this product has to be kept in a controlled temperature range and I am considering a long distance flight that could be 20+ hours. The question is, how the heck would I keep my medication at a controlled temperature for that long?

I've managed on flights of 15 hours by using a small cool bag stuffed with polystyrene chips but that only just kept it with acceptable limits and that was only by storing it on the floor where it's coldest.

The airlines are no help as they don't have any facilities these days for cooling things. Be aware also that they tried to make my med bag my one piece of hand luggage until I threatened them with action under the DDA.
