Hi,Do any of you get pains in your head, not a headache as such,a sort of 'come and go' stabbing? :( Over the past 10 days I've had what I thought may have been neuralgia over the left temple and left side of the head.I did wonder if it was due to the Hydroxy but I've been on that for 5 months now.I know it's not a normal headache as it's not there all the time,it seems to start a couple of hours after I get up in the morning then comes and goes all day.I know RA moves around the body but wasn't sure if it can affect the head.Someone may have an explaination for me.Just taken a couple of Sopadol to see if that will help. Breane.

Hi Breane, I have the same thing too from time to time, I saw the doctor and he sent me to a neurologist, they diagnosed Trigeminal Neuralgia, you should speak to your gp, it could be the Hydroxy but you really should check love Jaspercatxx

I agree with Jaspercat, you should make an appointment with your GP. I have had pains in my head before and this turned out to be referred pain from RA in my neck - but I wouldn't have said they were stabbing pains and it was more coming from the neck and straight up to the top of my head not in the temples.

Best to talk to your GP methinks.

    I'm the same as Linda
    it doesnt affect my temples
but goes straight up from my neck

It is sudden and quite stabbing and
its caused by the RA and some disc problems in
    my upper back.

Best to ask the doc about it though
    as others have also said.

    Hope you feel better soon

I have been getting neck pain so the two pains may be connected.I did think it might be caused by fatigue as the last few months I've been so tired all the time,I can yawn for England!!!!!! Sat with a cup of coffee this morning and actually nodded off to sleep. :? First time that's ever happened.I will mention the head pain when I next see my GP.The Sopadol didn't work infact it made me feel a bit queasy. Breane. :)

I don't get it on the hydroxy and tend to agree iwth the others that you should have a word with the GP.
I hope all is well with you otherwise and that you wake up soon.
Went to the caravan at the weekend so I went past yours :)
Have you closed yours down yet?

Hi Toni,Yes we closed up the van end of October.Site re opens around 14th March, can't wait!! Are you still keeping your van? We will be going back to Somerset over Christmas but stayng at Days Inn at Sedgemoor. They usually have a special offer when it's only £19 a night for two people.
I have to see my GP next week so will mention this head pain to him. It's not severe but a dull ache,on and off, definately not a headache.I've been having trouble with a tooth root which my dentist could not remove and I have to see an oral specialist in Jan. to see if they can remove the bit that's still left in.Perhaps that's causing the ache as I know that gum or tooth trouble can set up pain in the temple. This has been an ongoing thing.Had the tooth removed 2 years ago but the dentist couldn't get all the root out.No trouble for two years but when I came off steroids, the root trouble surfaced. The first appointment I could get with the oral specialist wasn't till late Jan.A long wait if that is causing the head pain. But I'll still see what my GP thinks.Hope all is Ok with you. Breane.
