help email address has 'sms' on it

Hi

I can use a computer without any problems, own a mobile phone etc but I've seen an email address that has "sms" on it. What does this mean? Technology moves so fast that I sometimes feel as if I'm losing the race especially as I haven't worked in nearly 17 months!
