HI, I've had a letter from the hospital and I have an appointment for my DEXA scan next Friday at 9am. :D I thought I'd have to wait ages, I hate waiting and although hospitals arn't my favorate places, it'll soon be over and done with. So, when I go to see the doc for my bloods, she might have something through about that and get everything over and done with. Or is that too good to hope for?  Love Sue

Hospital reports seem to take ages to get to GPs but at least things are moving on - hope all turns out okay.

When I had my DEXA scan the nurse specialist told me the results immediately afterwards. I had it done to check for osteoporosis. You might be lucky.

Hey, good luck with the scan Sue........hope you don't have to wait too long for the results....but at least things are moving.....you could always ask if they can tell you anything when you're there..the practice seems to vary depending on where you are in the country. Iris x

Hi, I'm not really expecting a problem, I think my GP just thought that with my history of having my overies removed at the age of 30, it would be best to just be on the safe side. Also she wants to test my bloods for quite a few of the usual things as well as the arthritis type tests, as its some time since I have had them done.

I think I must have got a cancellation, so thats lucky, but I've got an appointment at the hand clinic the day before! I think I ought to take a sleeping bag!!!

When you think about it we must be costing the nhs a fortune! I'm attending 4 consultants and a hand therapist just now...makes me feel really guilty.... Iris x

    hi Sue,

You should be able to get the results as hey are all online. My GP was able to login to the hospital and get my recent xray results before the hospital wrote to me.

Thanks Anne, I know that my GP can call up the xray and scan results. I hope that she will be able to do that with the scan. I don't want to keep going back and forth, its embarresing! Shes always fine about it and tells me to go whenever I need to, but, its me! I think that someone else might need the appointment more than I do! I think I was brought up to think that you only went to the doctor if it was really important! Mind you, in those days the doctor used to come and see you!
