Hi all this may sound a tad daft but what symptoms do you get with OA of the jaw?, I’ve been struggling with mine for the last 4 weeks or so when I go to eat it really cracks and crackles on the left side and is a bit uncomfortable when it does also the muscles around slowly starts to feel like it’s slightly tight and swollen definitely not right but I wonder what you lot think of this, I don’t want to go back to my GP he is probably sick of seeing me but I have to admit this isn’t really getting any better.

Hi,i was told by my gp that i have OA in my jaw.
This was discovered after a ear infection that was relucant to be cured.3 different courses of antibiotics,1 spray then steriod drops.
the gp checked infection had gone but the pain that was still there was the OA.It cracks when i open my mouth to far(no jokes  )
    pops & sometimes locks,only slightly.
I get ear ache when i lay on my ears.
Then when i saw the pain clinic consultant she says the ear ache, migrianes & sickness are all related to my neck.
Im now to see a neck specialist on the 9th dec at the pain clinic so i may get some more answers there.Lets hope.

Oh the joys of Arthr & he keeps me busy with all these appointments

Thanks collywobbles and minkey I apparently grind my teeth in the night, ( I thinks it’s because I keep have this dream I have Peter Mandelson by the throat then I wake up!) maybe that’s part of the problem, I also get similar symptoms to both of you so it could well be OA, will see the Doc next week, so thanks guy’s.
