Rituximab trial halted due to PML link - v worrying

I'm hearing that a major trial of Rituximab in early onset RA has been suddenly pulled because of a direct link between the drug and the fatal brain disease PML.

Anyone know more about this? The trial is located in Newcastle in the North East as far as I know. Very scary stuff indeed.

Doesn't look like anyone knows about this yet. Hope you get some answers though as it sounds to be a wonder drug but not worth taking risks.

Just thought you could always ring the Helpline team tomorrow and see if they've heard anything.
