Alcohol and Methotrexate

Hi
I wonder if you could help me .

I have OA ,but a friend of ours has RA and is on Methotrexate ,now i do believe that you should not drink alcohol whilst on this drug or at least in small amounts ,could you tell me what is the guide line for say a weeks amount of alcohol.

    Dear Jean

    Thank you for your posting on the forum. If you follow the link http://www.arc.org.uk/arthinfo/patpubs/6247/6247.asp this will lead you to information on methotrexate and alcohol but as everyone’s case is individual your friend should speak to their rheumatologist about drinking alcohol while on methotrexate.
