Hi Ali,
Its ok it comes under the arthritis umbrella. Sorry you have it though but its good you got the pregabalin, now that is good stuff for knocking out certain types of pain. I hope you are ok cus sometimes having the diagnosis can get to you a bit. there are a few on here with fibro and I am sure one will be along soon. You take care and it really does come under the arthritis umbrella sort of a arthritis of the muscles I think. On the top types of arthritis it has a facts sheet on fibro. Take care Cris x0 -
Hi, ive got OA & was diagnosed with fibro in oct this yr.
My rhymy refered me to pain clinic. i had the tender spot tests the same as you & hit the ceiling ( well understatement )
Ive been offered acupunture & been refered to a neck specailist too.
I would ask to be refered either by your rhymy or you gp to the pain clinic.
Im still under the pain clinic & am waiting for follow up appointment.
Ive also had injections into my joints at pain clinic.
so as you can see there is more treatment for you if you ask.
I was put on Gabapentin for the nerve pain & Tramodol for the pain.
plus i take Amptripyline ( for sleeping & relaxes the muscles) & Diclofenecs for inflammation.
I hope you can get some further treatment & this has been some help too you.
Anything else just ask away & no you dont have to leave as a few of us have different conditions or overlapping conditions as you will find out.

I find some Rheumatologists really unhelpfull. I have recently asked my GP to refer me to a different hospital as the care i have recieved recently is unacceptable and i would like a second opinion.
I was diagnosed with RA about 18 months ago and now my GP thinks i probably have fibromyalgia as well. I'll see what happens at my next appointment at the new hospital - it will be interesting to see if treatment or diagnosis differs.
Take care, hope your medication helps with the pain.

If you're not happy, definitley request a second opinion. The first rheumy I saw basically called me a hypochondriac, he didn't even do a blood test. I asked for a 2nd opinion and hit jackpot. I wonder, what made your GP think it was RA and what made the rhuemy think it was fibro? Did your bloods show inflammation? I ask this because, as a rule, fibro doesn't show up in blood tests. Also, it's possible to have both.
Oh and I'm sure you'll always be welcome here.0 -
No Tillytot!!
You are very very welcome!! Lots of people on here have fibro
Don't go!
wang a thread on and see what response you get from them Then you can see if it sounds about right.
Hope you are ok otherwise?

Thankyou thankyou thankyou guys i knew i could rely on you for support!!!
I wont leave!!!Yayyyyyyyyyyy.
Yes my inflammation levels were high in blood tests but not for the one for rheumatiod,my doc wasnt quite sure which one was for rheumatiod so i will let them off i guess.I suppose its very difficult to diagnose sometimes isnt it?Thing is tho when i asked could my thyroid going down then up this year have anything to do with it all and he said i was naughty for thinking that???Ok i might have long blonde hair but please dont treat me like a bimbo!!!But he did relent and got me to have another blood test just to see what thyroid is doing.Im not saying the thyroid has caused the fibro but it cant have helped can it and thyroid is notorious for not being treated correctly.
Ive driven to bristol today which i know i shouldnt have done, was an 80 mile round trip and the furthest i usually do is less than 5.Had to take my dog back for check up for her blind eye and didnt have anyone to take me.I feel utter rubbish now so going to have to chill out for the rest of the day.

Hi, I'm sorry that you've got such a horrible, painful disease. Their is a Fibro forum, but fibro is still, I think a type of athritic disease, so you can come on here. You've probably noticed that quite a few people on here have it. Still, at least you have a diagnosis now, and know what your up against. For me that helps, as otherwise I search the internet and come off with some terrible, rare complaint that knowone's heard of!! You will also be able to get the right treatment for your condition.
I hope all goes well, love Sue0 -
Hi Ali,
Just wondered what treatment they are giving you for the fibro? Hope it all went well for your little lass and they are pleased with her as well. Driving..... Oh I do a bit everyday and will probably have to do a round trip of round 500 soon and am dreading it  Rest up and hope you soon feel better. Cris x0 -

Hi Ali,
I don't know if you've heard of it but you can have sero-negative arthritis, which means there is an absence of the rheumatoid factor. There was a post made in another forum and I'm thinking of making one in here because it seems quite common.
Hope you manage to rest today.
