Hi
I explained on other posts that I have just had the worst flare up ever. I am still getting over it and still feel very lethargic.

I have been on sulphasalazine for 6 weeks and on celebrex and prednisalone since around march time.
When going to the blood monitoring clinic they told me my iron levels were low and that it would be monitored. Yesterday i got a phone call form the hospital to say that my haemaglobin / feritin / iron levels were low and that I needed to go to my GP for iron tablets. When I first went to the blood monitoring clinic they told me my iron levels were low on the first visit and that it was probably from taking the celebrex / prednisalone.

I have now added the iron tabs to my daily drug intake and am quite worried that I am taking tabs to fix problems caused by other tablets. Surely this is not good for you??? I havent even felt any benefits from the celebrex or sulphasalazine only the prednisalone so am quite frustrated that i am taking all these tablets when it is only the pred that appears to be working for me.

    Hi Bailey

I hope the iron tabs do not give you constipation.  If so, there are different type of iron pills the doc can prescribe.

Let's hope you get back some of your energy soon.

    Luv

    Hello Bailey27
Sorry that you have been suffering so much. I was just thinking earlier today how lucky I have been since last year when I was at my highest level of flare ups. And now, it all depends on what tablets you are taking and getting the right cocktail.
I've had anaemia probs most of my life until i had my hystarectomy and following a blood transfusion, no probs since. I think my count was down to 7.6 and it should be 11.8 I think. Have never been able to take iron tablets. Very difficult to absorb, so I was told anyway.
I do hope you start recovering soon and get your medication sorted too. Good luck

    Hi
Glad to hear that you are over the worse of your flare up. See how you get on with the iron tablets and discuss your concerns with your GP.
