Hi
I have just returned from a long evening in A&E. I found my foot was swollen and a strange coloured bruise developed accross the top of my foot below my ankle. It has a raised `lump` and then more blue bruising spread towards the outside of my foot. It is not really painful, but is very uncomfortable, tense etc..
The `not` very helpful doc in A&E said it was probably a stress fracture, asked if I had been wearing high heels!!!! ha ha! Not likely!! And to go back if it got worse.
I feel like I am dropping to pieces! What next? Actually, I don`t want to know!

No wonder you are fed up! I really feel for you - what a horrid problem to have on top of everything.

take some time to look after yourself and only do what you absolutely have to do - be kind to yourself and get some rest.

    Hi Nearly,

I am sorry to read your post. You have to rest that foot and go careful on it. I had one, wasn't able to stop 'light duties' and the swelling didn't go down and I ended up with an impact ulcer that took months to heal. Sit with it up girl and be more sensible than I ever manage  ((( ))) and hope things get better for you soon. Luv Cris x

    Hi

I had a stress fracture like that a few years ago, and I had no recollection of doing anything to cause it. It was very painful, and took a while to heal. Now I can feel a lump in my foot where the bone healed over. I hadn't been wearing high heels, so don't know what happened.

    Oh no, bless you
Are you going to your doc tomorrow? They can't just leave it like that. Did you have X ray?

Hello, Ohhh that sounds very painful. Now, its no use you telling me you don't wear high heels, I know that, secretly you go out every night on the town with 6" stilletoes on, comleate with mini skirt and fishnet tights!

Sorry, I just got carried away, I'll have to get some more of that stuff they put in my tea!!!

Seriously, you've had such a bad patch and I feel so sorry for you, I wish I could do something to help. I suppose it is something that should heal quickly, but its no fun. Good excuse not to do any Christmas shopping!

Hope you soon feel better, take a good rest, lots of love Sue xxx

    Hi everyone
    Thanks for your lovely messages.
Sorry Cris, not being a good girl! Have gone to work, but office based today so not too bad!
still swollen and bruising quite spectacular, but not more painful.
I promise if it gets worse I will go back!! Honest!

I am seeing my surgeon on the 17th (gynae on 14th!! all comes at once for me) so will speak to him too if not healed.
    Bloody bones eh?!!

    Hi
Sorry to hear about your stress fracture. You'll have to rest up. It is amazing isn't it to suggest you were wearing high heels - with arthur!!! I don't know about you but my heels haven't had an airing for about 5 years!!!

Did they bandage it? You'll need some support on it surely?
