Hello,
Well i had to ring my rhmy today as my foot has been up for a week and got so bad i had to been in bed for 2 days, got me really down. Anyway rang rhmy and they said rest, dont use, apply cold and take painkillers .. i thought fair enough!
Had to ring my heart nurse as ive an appointment next week and was worried i wudnt make it cuz of my feet. Anyway i told her the advise about my foot (u have to take care of ur feet with heart probs cuz of circulation). Anyway she told mr i must USE my foot, i must NOT put cold on my feet but heat and take painkillers ..
So what do i do? I have to ensure circulation is ok cuz of heart but i dnt want my feet to get worse .. so i took it upon myself to take my heart consultants advise ..
just annoyed me n just proved how hard the 2 conditions r to manage wen combined its upset me abit if im honest

Hi
Im not medically experienced but Im sure cold shrinks blood vessels so restrics blood flow, and heat opens them up increasing blood flow so I would imagine the heart nurse is the one to listen to, especially when it comes to the circulation. I might be wrong so feel free to correct me as like I say Im not an expert, but lived with someone who had diabetes and had to take good care of his feet and circulation.0 -
Hi Madness,
I am sorry your having all this at the mo. I also have chronic circulation and cold is very, very bad for mine. Obviously we re different people but I would try and keep warm and use or circle it in each direction s well as up and down if it were mine. I really hope it soon settles for you and take care, ((( ))) Cris x0 -
Hey,
Yup you are right. Thanks both for your replies. Its just fustrating cuz surly the rhmy shud be ware of my heart .. i gave them my patient number so they could get notes up! Well ive got heat pads on circulation (i have 2 so wen one runs out i crack the next one on whie other is being heated lol). Ive started to take lil walks to the toilet .. my partner was carrying me it was so painful. To be honest the swelling has gone down a lilttle this evening lol Its a little painful on my ankles though, My guch nurse said to get it checked at the doctors but im not keen ave managed to keep away from the surgery for a few weeks (avoiding flu jabs as im a needle phobic and waiting to see a needle theropist in the new year!)0 -
Hi Madness,
Just another thought I stick mine up when they are really bad, 3' higher than my hip and keep circling them and that can help but for me its a different reason. Keep them warm flower it will help with the blood getting about. ((( ))) Cris0 -
sorry to hear that you are having a tough time.
I wish I could help, but am sending hugs instead ((((((())))))))))

Hi madness
Sorry that you've not been feeling grand. I've been in agony this week too. I hope you feel better soon. I couldn't stand anything but warmth on my aching knees when they're this painful i put my heat pad on and elevate them which seems to help. You've got to be extra careful with your heart. Maybe you should try and see your doctor if you continue to feel bad.
I hope you feel better after a good rest. Take care.
