:) I have just started using Butrans patches. As you should not use direct heat whilst wearing patches i thought about holidays/sunbathing.Is there anyone who has been on holiday especially in hot countries and using pain relief patches of any kind. If so i would like to hear of your experiences. Could you get by not using patches for 2 weeks. Did you have to cover the patches. If you were tanned did your tan catch up where you removed a patch from. I personally love sunbathing at home or abroad. It always makes my arthritis feel better. Looking forward to your replies, Thanks, Brian. :D

    Hi Brain,

I wear butrans as well and first of all stop worrying. I shower with mine on and it doesn't get much hotter than that! One word of caution though, after you take a patch off you might find that the skin underneath is very sensitive to light and can burn if you are in the sun. I found out the hard way. If I go away and I don't want white marks followed by red marks (sunburn) I just wear the patch somewhere that is covered. I often wear them on the back of my shoulders or lower back. Just try and find somewhere where you don't feel it.

I hope they help, they do for me and just enjoy your holiday. :)
