Glad I found this site ! I am a 54 yr old lady with grade 4 OA in both knees ,also have OA in my spine ,shoulder, feet and elbows .
I have a question regarding Disability allowance ? Hope this is the correct place to post ,if its not then sorry.
I have had the Mobility and care for some years then 3 yrs ago they cut my care component to the lowest,I have been getting progressively worse and dont know why they chopped it to the lowest !I did appeal but was too scared to go along to the meeting so did it all by post,I lost ,so the past 3 yrs have had higher Mobility and lower care.
Last year I developed heart problems ,and recently put in change of circumstane form to try and have an increase in the care ,as my arthritis has also got worse.
They have rejected my claim ,but have now said that I will have it for an indefinite period.I just wanted to ask is there anyone else that gets the higher care ?should I appeal again ? am scared of appealing incase they take my whole allowance away, and I would be in big trouble if they did !

Hi,
If your OA is worse and you also have heart problems they should revisit what you get. But, as we know it doesn't always work in a logical way. My advice would be to go along to your local Citizens Advice, they will help you fill in the forms and with any appeals if neccessary.

Is it when you can't turn or get up for the loo or can't do your own meds at night an need help to take meds etc. If you were to neeed for example a nebuliser at night?? I don't really know but there are guys on here who can advise you
