I must have been posh - I wore plimsolls in the summer!

I can remember when I got to be taller than my parents as did my sister and brothers - now my sons tower above me and my husband. Does this mean that each generation gets taller because, if that's the case, in future anyone under six foot will be classed as a midget  (am I allowed to say that or should I say vertically challenged? :? )

I think kids are getting taller and bigger - quite worrying, I agree! My daughters are all very tall, my eldest who is nearly 11 is 5'2, dress size 6/8 and shoe size 6 (same as me). My 7 year old looks like a 10 year old and my youngest is also one of the tallest in her class.
My husband is 5'11 and they're all tall his side of the family. Me, I'm a shorty at 5'4 and don't I know it now our girls are growing up!

I am also 5.2 like your 11 year old,Nina!!!My first two girls are same height as me but the last 3 are going to be tall like their dad.
My 10 year old cant wait to reach the height to be allowed on the scarey rollercoasters at Thorpe park, he is nearly there.
Take care all

My eldest has been tall enough to go on ALL the rides at Alton Towers for 3 years now! We're taking my 7 year old next summer.
I say start them young with scary rides, my hubby's a complete wimp when it comes to big rides and I'm not going to let him bring our daughters up the same :-)
I think it stems back to my dad doing to same to us when we were younger. We used to drag my sister on whether she wanted to or not because we didn't have to queue with a disabled person and I still remember mum saying "You can't take the girls on, it's too scary!" and dad saying "Don't be ridiculous, woman, do you want them growing up to be wimps?!"
