DLA Medical & Appeal

Hi,

As a few of you know I appealed my DLA rejection and went for the medical 3 weeks ago. I hadn't heard anything so I phoned, I then explained I had been sent for the medical and wanted to know the status of my appeal. A quite snooty person told me that she didn't understand as they don't send people for medicals? I said they had requested me to go for amedical and she checked the system and said it was received yesterday. I queried why it took 3 weeks for a form that was fully completed in front of me 3 weeks and was told that it takes at least 10 working days to be received and logged.

Next question how long before I get a decision was told it depends on how busy they are at your office, I don't know. i ended the call by saying I would like to thank her for her help but couldn't as she hadn't helped.

I'm not holding out much hope but why do they make us jump through hoops.

    I hope you win on your appeal. I don't understand their system and from the sounds of it nor do they! It all wrong from start to finish eh? Fingers crossed for you though. Cris x

    Sounds like typical DWP jobs-worth with a bad attitude - how do these people get a job a) in a role where they should be helping? b) in a role dealing with people who are unwell/anxious/frustrated?!!! people skills bottom of the list.

    I hope you hear something positive soon, the wheels grind slowly in DLA and DWP land though! :roll:
