it can be really frustrating it took nearly8 months to get my RA diagnoses then we're still trying to get meds that work but don't make me feel bad!
it's a long time when you feel bad and are in pain.
i hope that soon you'll get a proper diagnoses and they get you on meds that help.
not much help, but i wanted to tell you things will get better!

    Hi Noodles

I can well understand your frustration at not being diagnosed after 6 months. Shame your gp did not refer your to a rheumy earlier. Would your gp be able to get you an earlier appt next year or do you go in early January. It does sound as if you need to be seen asap if you can no longer work and drive for any length of time.

You are definitely not going mad and you most certainly are not imagining any of it and please don't let anyone tell you that you are...... should they dare

Chin up, call in on here more - that may cheer you up!! At least you know you are amongst friends here. :)

    Luv
    Elna x

    Hi, I agree, with Elana.

I found that the worst part is not having a diagnosis, but unless the symptoms of the disease and the tests, especially blood tests are all showing the definate signs of RA then the doctors are having to look at so many differnent options. I have OA in my spine and neck and some other joints which have caused some nerves to be pinched and entraped. The hospital have been quite good and I have had carpel tunnel surgery on my worst hand, and it was my choice to leave the secont for a bit! I am still having waiting for more tests and I can't work either. I've been off work since the autumn this time and a long time the year before.

I am only telling you this story, not to depress you, as looking at it I wonder if it will, but to say that it does take a long time and it does drive you up the wall and you do wonder if its all in the imagination. I feel it would be easier to bear if I could have a nice big plaster on or something, so people would understand! I'm 54, and until this had a very active life, lots of walking and a job which needed lots of energy, I was a care assisstant, so not used to the type of life I have now and it makes me feel lazy!!!

You have a lot to learn to except and hopefully too, when you do get a proper diagnosis, the treatment will help you soon feel so much better!

Don't worry about moaning and ranting on this site, we all do and thats what its hear for. After all, if we had perfect lives and lots to do, we wouldn't have time to do this!:wink:

I hope you soon feel a bit better, but give yourself plent of time and don't over-do things. :?
    Lots of love Sue

    Hi
    A lot of us have had problems with GPs not listening to us {if I remember rightly from when I was here before}
I know I had problems.....hadnt even thought arthritis but had a pain in my hip which was getting worse and every time I went to the GP he more or less said....nothing wrong with you.
See if you can get your appointment a bit earlier.....seems as if you need it
    Good Luck
    Love
