Hi all , I feel like I have won a big fight , yesterday I tried to book an ambulance but was told no they needed to check with the gp and they would phone back but no one called , so I was all ready to cancel the appointment with the surgeon , but Decided to phone them up to see if any one did contact the gp , will they did and was told that I did need the transport
and they were over the phone you know the ambulance people are tighing up who to gets the transport , it not up to a reciptinist to make a decision but a gp so glad to be going altho the surgeon says he wont do op until older . my gp advised me to wait until I am older.

    HI mike

I'm so pleased for you. I understand, how you must have felt but so many people have been saying they need an abulance when it was not actually needed.

When I went once I we through the mill over it everytime.

One day we went to pick up this lady and got no answer. They waited for a couple of mins in case she was sloe at getting to the door.
We saw this lady running up the road, it was the woman we had waited for, she taken the Dog for a quick walk down the road and back.

    We were all fumming.

    Good luck Mike

    Hi Mike, Hazel.....

    Hope the ambulance gets sorted....
I was once at physio and a lady aged late 70s,walked in,quite briskly, and the receptionist mentioned she could have an ambulance next time...the lady sort of pondered and i got the impression she treated it like a free taxi and not from the point of needing it..........this makes me mad............then you have to battle for one.........
    have a nice christmas.

    Know the feeling Mike!
i know this sounds bit nasty but sometimes i get resentful cos i think well at their age what do they expect, its inevitable(arthur) and i am half their age, having to still work etc and just cos i am younger doesnt mean my pain is less etc. also they get free public transport anyway and i have to pay to park the car etc and havent all day cos i have responsibilities to attend to - kids etc. grrrr.

everything you say is spot on here , just the other day I was at my local tesco and was in my scooter I stopped at an aisle to get a bag of tea bags down from a shelf boy was I sore but I finally got them . an old man was watching me waited until I got into my scooter then he said can you reach up and get me a bag of tea bags down I cant do it as I am sore :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x I looked at him and said ok but next time you see me ask when I am things down formyself , I went away shaking my head later a old lady came up to me and said she saw what that myan did and she said sorry I said what for she said well he should have got you the bag down and I feel I have to say sorry for my age group he should have known better , I came away thinking there is some people that are nice ( why cant they all be like that .. some look at me as if I should get out of the scooter and give them a seat. do they not relise younng people can get it too.

    Hi Mike
well heres a similiar whinge to yours!
I was in local shop buying something like a loaf and was stood in queue. Old man infront drops several lottery tickets. Now, if i would have had my son with me i would have asked him to pick them up for old man but i didnt. As i sort of got the vibes i should pick them up for him or help i said, sorry, i cant pick them up for you but i have a sore back (pain and stiff as board). Instead of him saying something like its okay and that was nice of me to consider him., he said dead grumpy to the "sore back" reason, "so have i" dead grumpy.
I was mad. Felt like saying you old g@t you should be glad someone was going to pick it up if able and if you have sore back in your 80s, i am half your age. grrrrrrrrrrh.
and should have added, his state pension obviously goes further than my pay if he can buy so many lottery tickets!!!!!!!!!!i wouldhave said this infact but it didnt come to me at the time as i was gob smacked.
