While I was in hospital this week I met this lady who had had a Hip Replacement last Friday.

I went into hospital on Sunday at 6pm. She got out of bed and used a zimmer frame and went to the toilet.

At this time I did not know what she had surgery for.

When she told me, I nearly fell out of bed, I could not believe it.

On Monday, she was up on crutches, and walked a little bit slow but not much.

She went home Tuesday morning. This woman was about in her fifties or so.

The reason I have posted this, is for any of you scared to have it done. Or those who are waiting to have it done and are a bit nervy about having the op.

    Hi Kath

Goodluck to you, I will cross my fingers for you.

Let us know when you are going into hospital.

I just thought, how amazing is that when I saw her walk. She was on crutches though.......she did walk around her bed without them as well.

I'm ok Kath, it is still painful, but I suppose it will be. It will be 3 months to recover from it.

I arent the only one of course.

    Hi Cris

    Hi Cris

My 'pencilled in' date is 25th Jan
but my GP wrote and said I needed the op
quickly on a cancellation but nothing come thru
as yet, been waiting about 8 or 9 wks now.

So sitting it out and just waiting now

I know you know what pain is all about
like many other peeps do, not a great place to
    be is it.

    Love Kath x

Hi, Its amazing, isn't it? People seem to be in and out of hospital in no time. Its quite reassuring for people like me, who haven't had to have that type of surgery, but may have to in the future. Love Sue
