Hi
I saw this quote today, and it made me think.
What an awful thing life is. It's like soup with lots of hairs floating on the surface. You have to eat it nevertheless.
Gustave Flaubert[
There's a lot of truth in that, don't ya think??

Hi Joan,
Not sure about that one :? I have this theory a lot of life is really good and you have to have the rubbish in between to appreciate the good bits Shame I seem to b the owner of so much rubbish
Purrs and strokes to Tommy from this lot and me. Luv Cris x0 -
Joan
Don't agree with him. What are the hairs supposed to mean, us?
I'll have a good think.

I think it's more like a bowl of soup with great big lumps in it that are hard to swallow and at times impossible. When you do eventually get them down, they take a long time to digest.

I got some soup like that......venison it is....
To me, Forrest Gump was about right:----
My momma always said, "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."
Seems like over the last couple of years I got a whole box of 'coffee cremes'...........yuck
Oh! except for one special little chocolate.....a hazelnut whirl.........Mmmmmm yummy
Rob xRob0 -
Rob, if the hazelnut whirl was worth all the coffee creams, then count yourself lucky.........and don't worry about the coffee ones, I'll eat those!

Oh Annie......
Yucky yucky yuck yuck..............
As the old saying goes:---
One mans meat, is another mans stable door!!!
Well something akin to that.....
Rob xRob0 -
No, no, surely it's 'One man's stable door is another man's horse?
Annie0 -
annie_mial wrote:No, no, surely it's 'One man's stable door is another man's horse?
Annie
Oh! of course it is....silly me...
Rob xRob0 -
Or possibly 'Don't bolt your stable door after the chickens have hatched'?
I can see it's going to be one of those weekends already, I'm in such a daft mood. I feel Christmassy already and I've only had a cuppa!
I'm all excited - it must be the meds!
Annie0 -
Yer.....I seem to have my 'silly head' on today.....
A rolling stone doesn't fit into a round hole??????
Rob xRob0 -
Of course not, it'll get mossy!
Annie0 -
You're right - it's a square stone that gathers no moss......
Annie0 -
annie_mial wrote:You're right - it's a square stone that gathers no moss......

Rob xRob0 -
I think I'd better go and put my 'sensible' head on as we have a family lunch today.
I'd better go and get the day started...............

Hi Delboy
I really like that one :!: :!: Sometimes those moments are in short supply, but they are wonderful when they come.

Hi Trisher
I take it to mean that no-one can avoid the rubbish which life throws at us all from time to time, so we just have to get on with it. Something like that, anyway :!:
I started this thread in a fit of melancholy last night, when I was a bit tired and emotional.
I am feeling more cheerful this morning, you will be pleased to know.
Happy home-coming to you :!:

You are right up to a point, but it seems very unfair that some people get more than their fair share of the rubbish. We only need a bit of rubbish to make us appreciate the good parts, not a whole bin full :!:

Hi Annie
Too true :!: I've got one of those great big lumps in my stomach right now :shock:0 -
I suppose there`s a lot of truth in the saying that what doesn`t kill you, makes you stronger. Well, most of the time anyway!......Ange.0

Hi Joan,
I seem to be the not so proud owner of a land fill sight x
Morning Ange x0 -
Hi Rehab
I hope you are feeling better today.
This is very profound, isn't it :?:
Blow after blow; clue by clue.
Each "wrong" step we take, the truth we dip into.
I think we all take wrong steps in life from time to time, don't we
:?: Sometimes we start with the best of intentions, but then something seems to happen to make everything go wrong.
I think we all deserve a chance to start again at Level 1. Do you agree :?:

its Simples
all you do is brush away the hair and the soup is great.
You can sore with eagles or sit with turkys its your choice
just take your time to make your path life is so good
Hi Guys

my life's great, but every now and then something bad happens,
or
my life's bad, but every now and then something great happens.

maybe it's like the glass half empty or half full question?
