Hi everyone, whilst sitting patiently for my injuries to heal, I have decided to keep myself busy, so I have decided to trace my family tree, I have always wanted to do it, my sister tried once but didn't get very far love Jaspercatxx

Hi Jaspercat
I have a cast on but all my fingers are inside it, just the tips showing, the other has a splint it plus one finger is splinted.
How you getting on with your injuries? I do hope you will get better soon. Did they say how long it will take to mend?

At the moment everything is hard really hard. I'm pretty helpless but I do try not to bother anyone.
I do hope that after my hand op, in 3 months time I will be better, but during the op they found that the arthritis was worse than the x rays showed.
They don't know if it will be fully ok as there was not that much good bone to put in to help it mend. Only time will tell now.
Still, life carries on, so I'm gonna have coffee.

Hi Trish, coping just about, they say maybe 6 weeks for the wrist, the plaster cast makes me itch, not sure if this is good or bad, not sure about my collar bone, I am seeing the orthopods on tuesday for a check up, so will know more then.
Sorry to learn that things are so awkward for you and wish you a speedy recovery love Jaspercatxx0 -
I wished I lived closer Trish. Then I could come and help,
Do hope you are managing as best you can. Did you do anything about having a carer in - did you ask at the hospital?

Good idea, I think you can do a fair amount on line these days. It does get expensive if you go to the agencies.
We couldn't get far on my dad's side as my great grandfather worked in as a game keeper in service in Ireland and I think alot of their records were destroyed somewhere along the way. Good luck with it, let us know how it goes. You might have Royal blood?
Hope the injuries not too painful and uncomfortable.
Take care

Do you have a knitting needle you can get that down and have a little scratch.
Or a ruler, be careful not to break the ruler, splinters use a metal one.
Hope you are better soon. Let us know how your appt goes

Oh gosh, you poor two. Wish I could come and help. It's difficult.
I had my right elbow imobilised for 6 wks a few years ago now. I had suffered with a very bad tennis elbow which wouldn't respond to treatment so, to keep it still, I was put in plaster. Fine, but after 4 wks, I just couldn't stand it - itching and burning and so, I asked them to take the plaster off. Guess what? They had forgotten to put the cotton sleeve on my arm to protect it from the plaster and so, my arm was covered in blisters. What a mess.
