To all those who advised me yesterday, I saw the rheum nurse today about the mtx and, after a full discussion, deciced to start in January. She could see my wrist was swollen and I realised my other joints were more painful than I thought so there wasn't a lot of choice if I want to avoid joint damage.
So thanks to you all for your support. It really helped to know what questions to ask.

Hi Sally
I hope the mtx helps you. My OH's uncle has improved greatly since he's been on it.
Regards

Sally, I'm being bumped up to 20mg very quickly for lots of reasons, so if you have any questions or want to compare notes, feel free to PM me.
Good for you for coming to a decision - I almost feel at times that any decision is good, once made, you haven't got it hanging over you!

thanks everyone! As you say Annie, feel much better now I've made the decision and I will get in touch when I start. It really helped having discussed things with everyone here as I knew exactly what questions to ask. Just wish me luck for my other result tomorrow please!

Of course, Sally and do let us know asap!

hi guys, very cheerful tonight, mammogram results were clear Can't be more pleased, was on tenterhooks all day and got the phone call at 5pm.
On a slightly down note, arthritis v bad today. Hands and feet not working properly and painful. Managed to put up double glazing film on my bay window in my bedroom though - no mean feat I can tell you! Can't believe I'm saying this but look forward to starting mtx to get this disease under control.
However, I don't have breast cancer so got to be grateful for that.
thanks for all your support you lovely people!
