How are you all coping in the snow?

I had my work christmas party last night. I traipsed through the car park and the snow soaked through my ballet pumps. I didn't notice till I got home and noticed my tights were wet because I was a tad tipsy. Not sure it's a good idea to drink on 9 different types of medication but never mind, I had fun! Feel very sick this morning though. :? I've slept on and off all day and I'm in a lot of pain. I wanted to go sledding but my mum put an end to that idea. Mums ruin all your fun, even when you're 21!

The cold is wreaking havoc with my joints - they're throwing parties left, right and centre! I think there is a competition going on between my elbows and my ankles...

I'm not a big snow fan, especially when I have to travel by train tomorrow morning. Bring on the rain!!

Glad you had a good time at the party - sometimes we need to be a little naughty!

You enjoy yourself, Princess, and have a lovely time this Christmas. My mum was still spoiling my fun when I was 50!

    Hi Princess

I'm glad you had some fun and good on you for braving the cold weather. :D

I don't think your mum wanted to spoil your fun, may be she was concerned about you and did not want you to be ill over Christmas.

    There will be other Christmases.

Have a nice one this year.

I know and I was only joking! :) I'm very clumsy and spend a lot of time in hospital waiting rooms as a result of that! I think she wanted to make 2009 an A&E free year! I'm very glad for no broken bones this year *touch wood* even if my health hasn't been good.

Have a wonderful Christmas! I think your Mum was right, arthritis or not, going sledding with a hang-over would have had dire consiquences!!! :x  We know, we've been there, we've done that, but don't tell your Mum I told you!

Have a lovely Christmas and take care! Love Sue xxx

    Hello Princess

Hope you have recovered from your lovely night out with no dire consequences. We mums do try to spoil your fun don't we, but I can remember my daughter before she went on to Uni. I used to go down to visit her in her flat, shared by 3 other girls (who have stayed friends right up to now, she was 40 this year) wow.

Anyway on one of her nights out, about this time of the year and there were the same weather conditions, she ended up in A&E after slipping and broke both her wrists. She had to cope with them when she went back to Uni. Needless to say she is suffering with them now. She also had problems with her hips from about 5 years old.

Hope you have lots more parties to go to, but do be careful, esp on all these meds.

Big hug from a retired mum. Joy

Hi, I'm really nervous of walking on ice. I fell over and really hurt my arm about 15 years ago, didn't go to hospital although it looked awful and hurt like hell. Its never been the same, swollen and a funny shape. As I get older, the pain seems to have decreased but it still looks funny and is swollen!!! I think if I'd gone to the hospital at the time, it would never have lasted so long, 15 years is a long time for a bruise!! :x I had to have an x-ray a while ago and they wondered why there was fliud there, so I told them the story, the docs where not too impressed!

    Hi
I'm frightened going out in ice now...l.it was this time last year that I crossed a little village road, behind a parked car, he started, reversed, knocked me down {it was icy} rev over my ankle and then drove over it....so I still have that in the back of my mind.
I have plateds, screws, pins etc in it and its still swollen and a weird shape and I've now got arthritis i n that

    Love

Hi sounds like you had a good time, it helps now and then to let your hair down. Your mam is only concerned for your welbeing. You have to remember that you will always be her baby, which is nice.

hope the pain gets better and you have a good xmas and a pain free new year :D
