ankles swelling , any ideas?

I think mentioned on here a few eeeks ago that I had a stress fracture of my ankle. Well, here`s the funny thing. I had no idea how it happened and apart from the pain and swelling, wouldn`t have known it had happened.
But, now I have a swelling in my other ankle, and it feels stiff after rest, a bit painful at times, especially after wearing my uggs or other flat boots. This is really a worry, re the footwear, as I can`t tolerate heels well.
There is no bruising, just puffiness/swelling, in both ankles tonight.
I have never had this type of swelling before, or been diagnosed with any arthur in ankles. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello, Glad you are back on your feet - take care. I get swollen ankles too, which, as my sister also gets them, I put down to age... especially as they don't hurt.
