Chiropractor for OA

I have now had 4 sessions with the chiropractioner. If you decide to go down this route, then choose well.
Ask your GP first of course. I asked mine and he said that he preferred a chiro to an osteopath.
Although I feel sore, somewhat bruised that's to be expected. After a sesson you have to make sure you keep warm, rest 24 hrs. and no alcohol.
I feel much better and I have more energy and some of my strength has returned to my body. My backache and neckpain has gone. I don't know about my hip, but she assures me that it will become easier.
I was walking without my stick last night and today.
For myself, it seems to be working and I feel lots better.
I couldn't have got through Christmas and all the work without having it done. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

Hi Joy
Good to see you are finding it helpful and seems to be reducing the pain. Good luck with it, hope it does last for you.
Take care

Had a thought.
My doctor knows and agrees to the chiro, but do I tell my consultant.
If he thinks it is the best thing then he could discharge me, despite the PA and RA and PMR. Do I tell him???

I think I shall probably tell him. With the weight slowly going off too and the chiro, he will see that I am trying help myself.
The RA is still visible with red and swollen hands and feet. I've still got the PMR and I think the OA won't go away completely.
What do the doctors call it Degenerate Arthritis. Is that when you have every type of arthritis or because I am old.

Had another chiropractic session this morning, which has left me feeling very relaxed and I want to sleep. The session wasn't so painful as the previous ones. We have had a crises though and are grandson sitting this afternoon.
I really do feel better though. My left hip is not hurting so much - I pulled some ligaments in my lower back yesterday taking Christmas decs down, silly me. I have to put some Arnica Cream on it and use ice packs.
My neck is a problem still and I'm using my scarf a lot.
She is squeezing another session into Weds morn before she goes away.
All in all, for myself, I am glad I chose this treatment. I think it is money well spent and will tell my consultant about it definitely

Though many people only associate chiropractors with the treatment of back and neck pain, the role of a chiropractor is much larger than just pain relief. Chiropractors are concerned about the overall physical, mental and emotional wellness and health of their patients.
