Ooooh, Carol, you had me worried there!

My decs will come down tomorrow because hubby has a little job to go to next week and I can't do them alone.

.........but it will be bliss........two or three days without him under my feet.........then I go back to work! Down to 2 days a week now and ending in a few weeks (and very boring, too, as I'm just training colleagues up).

    Hi all,

Back to normal - isn't it wonderful, my decs came down yesterday while I listened and watched the wonderful concert from Vienna - bit of a tradition.

House to ourselves, work Monday, Sell house next weekend?? - I wish! looks like we will be getting a new agent the ones we have are rubbish.

Anyway onward and upward this decade has got to be better than the last!

    Hi everyone,

I took my decs down today - place looks empty but good to get back to normal.

I always feel really flat after a busy spell cos as well as Christmas I also had my younger son's 21st birthday on 20th Dec. We had a great day and his older brother has been home for 2 weeks.

However I'm now a bit down in the dumps cos older offspring left today at around 3.00 pm to go back to Milton Keynes - 8 hour drive in not the best of weather. He can be a nightmare sometimes but I'm missing him already, and his younger brother is out at his work party. So feeling a bit sorry for myself - it's a mum thing!!

As I was typing this older son has phoned to say he has reached Manchester so that's more than half way.

Oh well, back to work on Tuesday and a bit of normality.

Happy new year to you all.

    Oh Annie, I am sorry.
about work that is. Just think of all the things you have wanted to do/but couldn't because you had to go to work.
Make things, do the garden when weather is fine, if you are fit enough that is.
Meet friends Must be the worst time of year to end work. I did it in November gosh, 2 years ago now. Can't believe it. Time goes faster when you retire.
let me know what hobbies you have. Painting/art????

Oh Joy, that made me laugh - when I was at primary school our art teacher was a quite well-known local artist. I was so bad at art that he used to have me sit to him during lessons so that I didn't have to do any!

But don't worry - I am definitely NOT going to be bored; between now and April/May we are moving house. I have to condense the contents of a 3 bedroom house into a 1 bedroom flat! It ain't easy!
Thanks for your concern, though and should I ever feel like taking up art as a hobby I will be on your doorstep. (Don't have nightmares, it's unlikely!).

Margaret. Have you got a buyer, if not, good luck for one soon. Christmas is always a flat time but be patient. I forgot about the concert this year. Mad with myself. I love them.

Lucymum: I'm surprised I didn't put weight on, like you I lost it.
I was so busy and the chiropractioner sessions may have had something to do with it soon. We get all this food in and then, when we've got it we don't fancy it.

Hi Pheebs. Happy New Year . It's going to be a good one. How far up in Scotland do you live. The furthest I have ever been has been Inverness. Also to th Western Isles. Beautiful. Perhaps next year. It's destination Norway this year.

OMG Annie I think you will have to put on a garage sale or house clearance. What an awful wrench. My art teacher some years ago said that everyone could paint. It's all in the mind!!!

To everyone else, the decs are down, now going to sort my studion out.

Joy Happy New Year everyone, again.

Don't worry, it's Valentines day soon. The cards are on show in the shops by Boxing Day.

My OH and Me are so romantic, we just keep bringing out the cards we bought some 15 years ago, and have a laugh. I like to check that he still remembers what it said and can he still loves me as much. Answer is always yes.
I feel that I have known him all my life. Just thought I would add a bit of romance to the thread.

    Go on say, yuk :|:|:|

    Hi Joy,

No we haven't got a buyer yet it's been on the market for about 10 months, the estate agents haven't done the things they said they would do, so we are going to change agents and start again!

The concert was lovely you may be able to get it on iplayer, hubby thought I'd gone mad - waltzing around the lounge with half a Christmas tree in my hand to the Blue Danube!!!

I hope everything goes well for all who have something planned........the house move, giving up work, those wanting to loose weight.

How can people loose weight over Christmas? I couldn't leave the biscuit tin alone this year

Oh well, just have to kick start it again.

I done an art exam when i was at school. I could never paint but was pretty good at drawing and i was ok with coloured pencils. As soon as i put a paint brush to it though............

I haven't done any since leaving school though, probably can't do it now! I love my knitting and crochet though :D

Hope 2010 is better for all of us X

    Hi again,

Didn't realise just how miserable my post was!!! Sorry !!

Cris - I've cheered up and I'm fine - thanks for asking!!

Joy - I live on the east coast of Scotland - near Carnoustie. You'll know where that is if you're a fan of golf. 5 min walk from the beach and 5 min walk from the countryside. Very lucky. Still a lot of snow around which is surprising because it doesn't usually stay very long with being near the coast.

Inverness is a 3 hour drive away - I was there in the summer for a girly weekend. And I've been to the Western Isles - beautiful beaches and scenery. Norway sounds like a different sort of place for a holiday - something good to look forward to.

    Toodle-oo!!

I took our decs down yesterday. Didn't like doing it although I do like getting my home back to normal. In fact I was quite sad thinking about all the things that had happened since I took them down last time.

But we are in a new year and some say a new decade so I am going to try and be positive and not maudlin any more.

So from now on I'm going to be a glass half full kind of girl and if it's half full of brandy then I'll be pleased 'cos it means I've drunk the rest of it !!
