Following hospital orders.....still in lots of pain!!

Last Monday I was instructed to relax, rest and not do anything to try and control latest flare. After a week of not sleeping (up again at 3.30am this morning in too much pain to sleep) properly I'm waiting for the GP to call back and triage me.
Rheumy at hospital advice was to lie with lots of pillows round me (where poor hubbie is going to sleep I'm not sure!) and take paracetamol.
So all week I've tried to be really good and not do too much. Everyday I did something I paid for it by the evening time. Yesterday I did nothing, was in bed til midday then spent the rest of the day on the sofa. Last night I was in so much pain it was silly! Not only are my shoulders hurting but now something in my groin is killing me too?! Is it RA related? Fibro related? Pregnancy related? Or none of the above? Rheumy seems to have made up his mind that I have to cope on my own. Would like to see him try it for a few days, bet he'd change his tune!!
Oh and its my birthday tomorrow.
My baby is growing really well and kicking lots which I'm really pleased about. I try and keep thinking of the end goal of all this suffering but then I worry that I can't even dress myself let alone a baby!!!
Agh!!

Happy birthday tomorrow Jenzie,
Sorry you are struggling so much.I was pregnant with R.A 6 years ago.I wasnt on MTX previously....only sulfasalazine which I continued with throughout pregnancy.I remember being really tired but no increase/decrease in R.A symptoms which were,by that point, manageable.Mine all came after baby born!.It certainly took a lot out of my body but strangely enough she was the only one(out of 5) I managed to breast feed for more than a few weeks. That was until they put me on a new medication because of the increase in pain and inflammation and I had to stop.Make sure you are prepared for your medication as soon as able after the birth.

Thanks for the replies. Still feeling really quite poorly but am cuddled up on the sofa under a blanket with a hot water bottle on the sore bits (I need more than one!).
I spoke to a GP at my surgery - have to say all the GP's there are fab - she was lovely and said that leaving me to get on with it was not a fair option so she's faxing the rheumy to get me seen asap. Not sure what the docs can do but they can at least see me and examine me. Otherwise they are relying on diagnosis by my description of symptoms.
My baby is due at the end of April but could be the beginning of May if he likes it in there.
Hope you are all keeping warm in these cold times!0 -
Happy Birthday Page, hope you had a good day with cake!0

Hi Jenzie,
Sorry you're suffering so much at the moment .... it's grim isn't it when even resting isn't comfortable I'm sure you'll cope when the baby's born as they'll put you straight back onto your meds and they/you also know which meds suit you and that has to be a big advantage.
Hope you have a lovely birthday tomorrow.
Enjoy as much as you can.
