Well I hope the rest of the year goes better than yesterday, there I was all keen to go flying the only powered model I have in my large fleet of flying things, so first off the glow motor wouldn’t start and I noticed fuel leaking from behind the engine, Ha I thought rear crank cover must be loose so in -5 deg I remove the engine only to find it’s a split in the silicon fuel tube feeding it.
Oh well another 30 mins with numb fingers trying to put in back in but I did it and she fired up like a good-un, so take off no problems fly around making a noise like a demented wasp I land to refuel and off she goes again only this time at 7 feet off the deck for some unknown reason it ailerons over hard to starboard nearly cartwheels but I got it down safe bar a bent undercarriage, now it’s at this point I should have done a bit more work looking at why it did what it did but nope!, so off I go for another flight, all was going well until it gets to around 100 feet then it roles hard over again and without the slightest regards for any control I’m giving it it dives straight in to the frozen ground at full throttle, all I will say is it did a good job of killing itself so much so it took a good 10 minutes picking up the bits.

Hi Mell
It's a bit like the story of my life, really, even down to the bent undercarriage :!: :!:
But this forum picks up the pieces for me, especially when I read things which make me smile. Sorry to smile at your misfortune though :!:
Better luck in 2010 :!: :!:

Oh Mellman
I hope you are ok after the flight. You know I got a bit 'into' the description too was very good, but I kinda knew it would have a bad ending
I hope it will all be put-back-together-able?

Not the body it's a mess it even snapped the bolts holding in the engine, I am now building another more powerful stunt plane so it's not to bad I guess, I don't know what it is but everytime I try and do something new it seems to go all Pete Tong, take me caravan, 3 trips out and I killed it on my drive way!. and just think I use to make your electricity!.0 -
Mell, you can make my electricity any time; if I put together all the daft things I had done over the last few months, we'd be here till next Christmas! I get very cross with myself, too (and embarrassed).
