I hope you are not suffering too much with the cold

I know how much pain the cold and damp can cause for arthritis. thankfully we have had little damp this year but a lot of cold. most of you live inland, where it is much colder but even here on Anglesey, it is real brass monkey weather.
I had a walk this morning, my knee ached a bit but after a rest i was fine later and managed the walk nicely.
but now the moans and groans begin. a warm room and later a warm bed help a great deal. I have no central heating now, but my heaters are quite adequate and save me a lot of money compared to central heating.
so, I hope you too are keeping warm, they say after a cold winter a hot summer, so the saying goes.
so, keep active, at least the dry cold is better i believe than the damp cold.
best wishes,
Nick

Hi Nick,
Yes I agree with you about the 'ice' cold being somehow better than the 'damp' cold!
I've really taken notice this winter about keeping myself warm. My toes in particular can feel 'cold' so I bought myself several pairs of lovely warm fluffy bedsocks, and to be honest I wear these most days now too
Hoping to have a run over to North Wales soon but not 'til the snow has gone!

Hi Nick
We only have storage heaters but we do have a coal fire so im sat in front of that at the moment nice and cosy. Dreading going back to work. Did pop out this morning to go to the gym and it was so cold.0 -
Didn't realise you were in Anglesey, Nick, my grandma came from Beaumaris!
Today, it's been the 'unexpected incidentals' that have chilled me - I had to wait ages in an unheated waiting room at the doctor's, no idea why there was no heating on, but it was absolute pandemonium in there, so didn't want to stop someone to ask. I seem to have been cold ever since then.
I wish someone could tell me what to do with my feet, they get cold quickly, but because they burn and throb all the time covering them is very uncomfortable.
Apart from that we are very cosy at home; I sometimes feel rather guilty about that since so many people aren't.

Hi Nick
I like this cold, crisp, seasonal weather. I hate the rain and damp. It is lovely to walk out, when warmly dressed, with the sun shining brightly. The minor blip is that we cannot continue to dig over our allotment and get the leeks out of the ground  I would like to make lots of leek and tomato or leek and potato soup, but that will have to wait a while. The leeks will not be going anywhere!!!
Keep warm and steadily on the go,
