This must be the longest cold spell we've had in years. Has anyone heard whether the government are going to give us an extra payment to help with our heating bills?

They generally do - don't they when temps are really low for a while...

But, would that be the usual £10 everyone gets at Christmas time?
Do you know how much extra he had?

Sorry, I wasn't very clear - he got his £10 at xmas time and then a few days ago, he got either £20 or £25 (can't remember which) as well. It was in the new year, I remember that and it was separate to the xmas thing.

That link was dated January 6th 2009, Rehab. It must've been related to last winter.

If you get any Pension Credit, you will get an extra payment each complete week that the weather is very cold. This Cold Weather Payment is £25 a week and is made for any period of seven days when the temperature is freezing or below, or it is forecast to be that cold. This payment will be sent automatically - you do not have to claim it.

Hi, I get Income Support as well as DLA, my cold weather payment of £25 went into the bank the other day, I think that I will be getting more if these freezing temps carry on love Jaspercatxx
