Hi all,
I had a blood sample taken yesterday and they've phoned today to say that I am low in sodium? Does that make sense?
Asking 'cos it was a bl**dy awful phone line (often is here in bad weather) but I'm sure that's what he said.
Anybody met this before? Any idea what the answer is?
I'm on both MTX and steroids, plus a dozen other things for various ailments.................could it be the MTX? Haven't had this before.

Hi Lynn, thanks for the reply - I think I've fathomed it, and it was just me being thick!
Yes, I do take - wait for it - bendroflumethiazide - but it is for high blood pressure and I don't take the amount which makes it a diuretic (I'm told!).
What I do get badly is night sweats - still - at my age, but apparently they are due to the steroids. It is ridiculous, because in this weather they seem to be even worse, start around tea time and sometimes don't stop until the early hours. Until this week when hubby complained, in the evening I'd be sitting here with the window open while I typed away! Even though the temp was below freezing!!
So I think I've just twigged what the problem is, what I don't know is what to do about it.....................anybody got any ideas? A packet of salted crisps a day?

PossiblyIt's what you do in hot weather. I didn't know steroids give you night sweats. I've swapped my duvet for old fashioned blankets and I don't sweat at all during the night any longer. Realised it was the cause of my poor sleeping habit.

I've tried everything, Sally. Duvet, no duvet, blankets, no blankets. I ended up with the duvet again due to the weight of the blankets, my feet don't like them at all.
OH is suggesting a little salt in orange squash! Yuk!

Lynn, the one I'm waiting for is when my alcohol levels get too low!
