Been back to see my GP today as before Christmas he was worried that there may be something more sinister going on. The good news is that the shoulder xray came back with no damage to the bones but as there is no muscle there at all he is still concerned. I have to keep doing the physio.

He also wants me to go and see a rheumy, he was talking about auto immune disorders and even mentioned muscular dystrophy. I have had loads of blood tests done and have to go back in two weeks when the results are through to discuss the way forward.

Although I don't want to have anything else wrong with me, it would be good to find out what is wrong, if that makes sense. I just don't feel good at all these days and I am constantly tired but can't sleep at night. I think I am hoping for that magic pill. I have thought for a while that all the bits of me that are failing and not working properly could be linked, maybe this is my chance to find out.

Can't believe I am only 39 and feel 99 sometimes.

Hi Anne, I don't know what else you have but it is always good to get a diagnosis, at least you know what is going on. All spring I felt tired, kept falling asleep on the sofa which is out of character. Although I am not exactly thrilled to have inflammatory arthritis :) at least it makes sense of how ill I felt. Good luckwith your blood tests and let us know how they turn out.

    Hi Anne,

Its god he is looking at you properly though I hope it turns out to be something simple. In the mean time I think you should maybe rest as and when you need to and though there isn't a magic pill at least once they know what’s going on they can help you more. Good luck with the results. Thanks everyone.

I have FAI and OA of both hips but all my joints ache. Under investigation for an IBD, have muscle loss all over, pernocious anemia, B12 deficiency, have a re-occuring cysy inside my eye which gets inflamed and the list goes on.....

I know there isnt a magic pll but I can dream. I realise that life will never be the same but to wake up one day and feel semi normal would be great.

I have decided to try and go back to work. I have my own company and I am a software tester so put out some feelers to contacts. The majority of work is a 100 mile round trip commute every day which is 3 hours on top of the working day, which I don't think I can handle. But, I am meeting someone for a coffee and a chat tomorrow which if they have any work is a 15min walk from my home, so fingers crossed.

    Thanks again everyone.

Hello Anne sorry to hear your feeling so bad, Its always good to get a name for your illness and some can take longer than others. Sounds like you have a good GP who is dpoing his best to get a diagnoses. Hope things start picking up for you, long term illness is such a pain.
    Take care

    Hi Anne
You are doing well to consider going back to work you know. It could well be good for you if it's so local. I wish you luck with it.
Good luck also with the tests and I hope they find out what is wrong very soon.
    Love

Hi Anne, I do hope they find you a label soon, I found it a relief to get even a temporary one!

I think we all dream of that magic pill, but I'd expect mine to make me 10 years younger to make up all the time I've missed!

It's good that you are hoping to get some work close to home, I hope it happens for you, can be very good to have something to take you mind off your aches and pains.

    I'll keep watching!

Hello, Its the waiting that really get you if you'r like me. I want the answers and I want them NOW. The trouble is that it dosn't work that way and thats when the awful waiting starts and my mind thinks of all the really bad things and convinces itself that is what the problem is!

I'm so sorry that you have to worry about all these things, but at least you have had tests done and hopefully, soon you will have some answers. Then you will be able to have the best treatment for the problems. Good luck and try not to worry too much! I do know how hard that is, I'm in a similar situation myself I'm waiting to see neuro and it seems ages. Now I wonder did I hear right, was that what they said, maybe I've made a mistake or should be doing something..... Your not alone. Lots of love Suexxx
