Hi
I'm sure I have asked this before but some days I feel completly washed out - fatigue and really irritable!! Some days I manage to do some bits in the morning but by the afternoon could do with a nap - but not necessarily in lots of pain!!
Is the normal for PA???? Mornings are not good - especailly at the moment - propably cause of the cold weather - but I wake up and feel very stiff and in pain - that is 'arthur' I know, but sometimes I jsut want to lie there for as long as possible as if I dont move, its not too bad!!!!! I take co-codomols and then wait for it to kick in!!!!
Also, can I take co-codomols in the mornings after taking Tramadol the night before?? I'm on 100ml at the moment but can take 200 if necessary (mind you I am very wary of taking 200 as take it this will knock me out???) The issue I do have some times is when I take tramadol, I dont sleep, I just lie there in a daze!!!!
Are these things normal???
Hope some one can make sense of my quires????
Louise

Hi Louise,
Fraid it does sound very failure. I wake every morning as tired as I went to bed in my body but after a bit of stretching walking and forcing my self it eases off. Do some work and on a bad day an hour in I have this crushing tiredness at times. I just asume its a flare? I have a couple of conditions that do it to me and never really sure which one is in the driving seatThe stiffness is the bones, they always stiffen f i rest up or dare to sleep!
Tramadol seems to daze me a bit if I take 2 and the pregabalin wires me so much I can't sleep but thankfully they also work so I will forgive them anything. The cold isn't helping me for sure but again not sure who's in the driving set one that one.....
You take care and I hope you have better tomorrow. Cris x0 -
Hi Louise,
I think exhaustion is normal for everyone with a chronic illness, especially if the illness isn't under control. We get tired easily because our bodies are fighting the disease. Listen to your body when it's tired, if you can, and have a rest. It the old addage of do-a-bit then rest-a-bit, except on bad days it's do-a-bit, rest-alot.
On good days you'll be surprised at how little you need to rest.

thanks for replys.
i think that some times i'm able to deal with the way i feel but sometimes it throws me and i'm not sure what is happening!! Also, I'm really bad for telling my self that its not as bad as it feels and pushing myself - i still have not learnt to stop when i know enough is enough as i want to finish what i started!!! so maybe i am my own worst ememy, but its nice to know that others feel the same and even on bad days, someone here is feeling the same so we can share!!!!
thanks again

Hi Louise, I have OA and PA and know exactly what you mean. I too feel overwhelmed with tiredness sometimes too. Around Christmas I was physically sick with tiredness as I pushed myself too far and had a chest infection as well.
It really does help to listen to your body and rest when you get the chance. I'm working part time now at the moment and let myself lay down for an hour each afternoon and it helps a little. I take Tramadol and Temgesic and sometimes Solpadol as well but they do make me a bit spaced out at times too. I find the long lasting Tramadol or Slow Release have fewer side effects, it might be worth asking your GP for these.
good luck
