TV Shows

So, we are having a 'new' tv show whereby celebs already
known for their singing are going to try their hand at being turned into opera singers.
Surely I'm not the only person who thinks we are now getting a bit swamped with this type of programme?
What do you think?

Totally agree with you Barbara! I was only holding forth with my kids last night about how I remember when there was only BBC1, 2 and ITV and the programmes were FAR better. TV wasn't even on 24 hours a day and the quality was much better.
There's only a few programmes I'll watch these days and I can't stand these reality shows - celebrities? If they were proper celebrities, they wouldn't have the time to spend 5 centuries or whatever it is in the Big Brother house!
Also (I'll shut up in a minute), what happened to family programmes? The likes of Morcombe and Wise, The Two Ronnies, the variety shows? And game shows are rubbish too now. Bring back the Generation Game, Play Your Cards Right and that show The Price is Right!

I tend not to watch any of it except Midsummer Murders and Doc Martin.
The rest of my viewing time is devoted to National Geographic and Eden.

Well the people get what the people want I guess, the fools lantern has now turned into some sort of electronic lobotomy device, even the documentaries seem moronic, I watched the hunt for Bin Laden last night, Jesus or should that be Allah!?, it was bloody rubbish showed nothing new not even any film of Torra Borra cave complex, nothing zip F all absolutely squat, and the conclusion!?, he’s!, well he’s!?, hmm well no one really knows if he’s dead or alive!, no sh*@!!!, WOW what a shocker, Hmmm?, well you don’t say ! I’ll be dammed I would never have guessed, and to think there was I thinking the old fart was living in Guildford as a road sweeper driver.
So we have had wide screen, Plasma LCD high definition TV now 3 D is the next big thing, I wonder if the next generation beyond 3 D will be Moron-o-vission, where you have a spliced loop of stricktlycomeXfactorbigbrotheroniceI'madeadcelebritygetmeontv and all the really bad adverts to totally brain wash us whilst we all turn into big fat Trans fatty acid induced Jabba the Hut look-alkies. Fed on pre processed GM nano bot engineered gunk, god it's going to be like the Matrex but with just more lard.0 -

Hello Jackie
I do agree with you. I am fed up with this type of tv. Are they so much in a rut do you think.
Celebs should be multi talented so and so's anyway.
I must admit I get addicted to 'Skating on ICe' I told myself I wasn't going to watch it this year. What about Heather Mills? I was abit anti Heather before the show, but she is certainly made of true grit. brilliant.

Mellman, you are sooo funny, and sooo right!
Hi Nina, I totally agree about bringing back a good variety show that all the family can watch together. When I was little, the whole family settled down every Sunday evening to watch Sunday Night at The London Palladium. Lovely.
I must admit one of the most enjoyable programmes I watched over Xmas was Ant & Dec's show on Boxing Day, which was suitable for all (wished that had been shown on Christmas Day).
Hi Joy, Must admit I watched Dancing on Ice, it can be quite comical! Think that young blonde girl and Sharon Davies should have been in the skate-off, Sinitta skated much better and didn't deserve to be first off
As for Heather, I'm sure she will want to be judged fairly and not get sympathy votes. And I hope the press will treat her fairly too!
