Feeling depressed

Hi Everyone, I know that this is unusual for me to say this but I feel depressed, I can't get out of the house with the icy weather, even my gp says not to try, I need to have a blood test and the 2nd part of my swine flu jab, to cap it all off I have now gone into a big flare up, I am in some much pain.
Malcolm is trying so hard to cheer me up but I can't even laugh at tv programmes, we had a game of scrabble last night but I snapped at him and started a row, any ideas about how I can cheer myself up? love Jaspercatxx

I think its a bad time of year, our bodies are low, lack of sunlight and daylight, even. All the excitment of Christmas and the worry of it too are over and now we have the snow, which makes are pains worse if we get a bit cold, let alone go out in the cold, and our home is a prison, we can't get out. It all leads to depression, I know I feel like that at the moment. Every little ache or pain and I think I've got something awful! Of You'd never believe what I've just come up with, because my mouth and lips are sore, some sort of wierd infection that sometimes turns into cancer, course its nothing to do with all the sweets and chocolate I've been eating! I had to laugh, as my husband caught me and said, ah thats what you've got today is it?' It made me realise what I've been doing lately. I've snapped his head of because hes asked what I'd like from the shops. I've also put on half a stone, which proves the bathroom scales are wrong!
I'm sorry you feel so depressed and I really do feel for you because it is horrible and saps life of all the pleasure. I'm sure you of all people will soon start to see the brighter side of life. It dosn't last for ever, but its not a "Pull yourself together" thing either. If its sticking, go to the doc, but I know you know that!
Get better quickly, we need you!!!
Lots of love & a hug, Sue xxxx0 -
Hi Jaspercat,
Sorry you're feeling like this - I know only too well how it feels. Time after the festive season isn't the best and the weather certainly doesn't help. Spring is round the corner (I hope) so just concentrate on that - better days ahead.
Joan Lawson started a thread to say she has been feeling down and has now started to come though it so I'm sure you will too.
Just think of some of Rehab's posts - they should make you laugh. And some of Mellman's too for that matter!! Wouldn't it be dull if we were all boring and normal?
Take care.

Hi Jaspercat,
sorry you feeling so down, and this snow and ice is keeping you in.
Try to to think about all that lies beneath the snow----just waiting to
appear as Spring comes in, snowdrops and Daffodils , shrubs and
tree's coming into bud.......the days fly in so fast- - - - it will not be
long now until we see all these things.
Do you have a photo album of your garden to remind you of
previous years.....you can look forward to plants and bulbs have
spread and grown as you wait for them to come through.
Hope you feeling happier soon.
Take Care

hi Jaspercat, sorry to hear you are feeling low. It's been really hard this week with the weather. Let's hope it eases up soon. I was so bored this week I started a jigsaw puzzle and only do those about once every 5 years!!
It will be over soon.

Hi Jaspercat,
You have had so much this year, far more than your fair share. I just really hope you will feel more like your usual self tomorrow and am sending you ((( )))'s. Luv Cris x0 -
Hi Jaspercat
I am sorry to hear you are feeling low. Peeps often do in January and you went through a great deal last year. We all have a habit of taking it out on our nearest and dearest when things are not going too well. Give Malcolm a hug and say you are sorry, which you have more than likely done by now. You two get on so well together. You have each other, that is definitely much to be thankful for, isn't it? A much loved, wise aunt of mine told me once, when times were difficult for me, "It will pass".
Luv

Hi jaspercat,
sorry you're feeling so low just now! as other peeps have said January is a rotten month anyway and this 'bleeping' snow is making prisoners of us all!!
If your meds allow it, open a bottle of wine that you and Malcolm can share, followed by a foot massage? but no 'funny business' after or you will have to tell us all about it on the forum! ''
Get Malcolm to read all these replies to your post; he'll see how well thought of you are and forgive you straight away!!
keep your chin up jaspercat! let us know how you are today. Iris x0 -
hi bit late getting to this linc sorry but must admit been in quite a bit of pain with this snow so not happy feeling down and cold lol . had a hot bath yesterday but even that does not take the ache out . will curl up with a good book and wheat bagval0

Hi Everyone, thanks very much for your replies, I sat down last night because the neighbour upstairs kept me awake again!!!! I ended up crying and funny enough it seems to have helped a little. I have been out for a tiny walk today with Malcolm's help, just to feed the birds with some bread and peanuts, very unsteady though.
It is just a blip I will feel better soon, we have been looking through photograph's today, including the one of me cuddling a lamb about 8 days old, so I am keeping going looking at photo's of what to expect in the spring love Jaspercatxx0 -
pleased to know you are not letting the dicky birds starve well done , i love little lambs all ways a sign of better weather and the end of winterxxxxxI know i am a lady ,all life is a journey xx MAY xx0

Hi jaspercat
I hope you are feeling a little better today, It's watching the birds feed
they don't seem to be feeding from my garden at the moment, & my feeder is full I keep looking but no birds. We did have a large bird in our garden the other day with a bird in it's mouth some kind of hawk, but the feeder's been there for weeks :? perhaps they don't like my garden any more
take care sue x0 -
Hi jasper cat sorry to here you is down right now, things get on top of me when it’s bad, well that and all the other stuff, if the numpties above you keeps you up why not get your own back one day by going on your hols for a week or two and before you go set your CD player on a repeat loop of the birdies song or something as annoying as that, put the speakers up against the ceiling with a broom handle turn up the volume just enough so it comes through his floor but can only be slightly audible during the day so it’s not going to upset anyone except him, then leave. once he hears it as he’s trying to go to sleep he’s had it his mind will be frazzled by the time you come home. Now that's got to be worth an ASBO.0

HI Glad your birds won't starve! It's nice to hear how you are. You help us all so much when we are down its only fair that we try and help you! I'm sure it is a blip, you'll be yourself again soon. Loads of love & a hug, Sue xxxxx0
