About two months ago I broke an old filling and am now on a temporary Crown.

Recently my aches & pains have been much worse and increasing in frequency taking in turn Hands, Feet, Elbows, Knees and tendons etc.

Yesterday another filling broke up with the center pin lacerating my tongue, (so another crown and can't eat), swallowed half the filling.

Today I feel absolutely awful, suffering from general malaise and joint pains.

On the positive side the replacements will be gold crowns. Isn't gold used for treating Arthritis ?. :P

Hi Life......sounds Like you've been living it up ..... High Life

I haven't noticed any difference in my joint pain when I've lost a filling .....do you think it could be the upset of losing the filling or just a coincidence? Others might agree with you though and find it affects them similarly.

You've not been eating Thorntons Toffees have you ...the most gorgeous toffee in the world that you just have to eat but you know you'll find one of your fillings in it ......wonder if it's a dentists recipe :D

Good luck with the gold crowns.

    Thanks Legs

It was a piece of crusty bread, now no more hard stuff, I'm sticking to mashed potato :(

Lots of me seems to be going wrong now although rather oddly my long eyesight is improving and now its the best its been in 40 years.

hi Paul, I don't think the mercury from the fillings can get into your system, even if you swallow it. Then it just goes through your alimentary tract intact and nothing can be aborbed from it from what I know. Something to do with the way it is made but your dentist could tell you more.

Thanks sally36 and collywobble for your reassurance.

Its just that various bits of me seem to be disintegrating including my fillings :o

Still I think I will be on the safe side and in future have a crown fitted as each filling breaks. Also the one's which are breaking have nasty pins in them.

Hurts my wallet almost as much as my joints
