Just after I was diagnosed we went on a weekend break to a Military re-enactment, we take photos, action photos being our favorite.
Anyway we took the caravan, it was quite a wet weekend, and the damp always gets to my joints. A couple parked their car next to our caravan and started to erect a tent. (It was quite funny coz they argued most of the time!)
While they were working I made a cuppa and took it to them, and we started to chat, it turned out that the lady had RA,her husband had epilepsy and had only been allowed a car 2 years previous. They had bought the tent especially for that weekend and the only time it had been up was when their son had put it up in their back garden to show them.
Never once throughout the whole weekend did I hear anything negative, in fact every time I saw them together or apart they were always smiling.
The other lady I met that weekend was 79 years old, she had lost her husband about 6 months previous.
This lady was old school, been in the war as a nurse, she told me some of her life as we chatted over a cup of tea (always tea!)
After she lost her husband she decided to buy a camper van and travel, and this she did, she had fibromyalgia hired a mobility scooter where ever she was and went exploring.
These two ladies really inspired me to get on with my life and endeavor to make the best of it, and when ever I get visited by the black dog I think of them.
I don't always achieve my aim of continuous smiling, and sometimes I really have to think hard about the good things in life, but if I try hard enough they are always there waiting for me.
Now what inspires you??
Linda

Hi, my friend Tina and her husband Mark inspire me, they have had two children with late infantile battens, a genetic illness, which presents with epilepsy and loss of balance, and eventually ends in a wheelchair with loss of aall functions and eventually death.
They have lost their beloved son already to this horrible disease, and now are going through it again with their daughter, they are amazing, they are so positive in outlook, and always ready to support others. I worked with their son in special school, and became very close, I now help out with Jasmine, and their youngest daughter Mia who is healthy. I chose Jordan for my user name after my beloved little one.
With these people to inspire me, I think I have alll I need, when I feel down, I think of what they have been through, and still are, it makes me realise how lucky I am.0 -
Over the years, there have been many people I have been inspired by Linda. In recent months, however, none other than our own Trish. What that lady has gone through is totally unimaginable to me. She has been there for me, even when I didn`t realise I needed her. I have so much love and respect for her - and she`ll bloody kill me for this!!!!......Ange.0

my children inspire me!!! No matter what pain i am in or what i am going through emotionally I know that one of my 3 will pull a funny face, say someting silly or just give me a hug.
Recently with the dignsis of my eldists JIA my middle little girl Gwen 5, has been amazing, no matter what is asked of her she does, she will help her sister without being asked, and fetch and carry for me if i need it! She is a really inspiring child!!!0 -
Hi Linda,
My friend who passed away last March was, and in fact is still my inspiration.
She had a 5 year battle with cancer, and in that time I never once heard her complain or say "why me".
She always asked about everyone else and tried to help others with their problems. So if I have any moments when I feel a bit down, I always think of her and give myself a shake!!

Wow what amazing answers, I really did not expect such wonderful and inspiring stories.
My thoughts and hugs go out to you all
and now I have so many more inspirations to lift me.
A special mention for Trish, you are a star, that is not only from me but from the people on this forum, you are very much loved and admired.
I am afraid I cannot do the pic thing that Pixyandfaries does so I will send you a big hug and smile instead.
I am sorry if I keep reverting to user names, very bad memory Lol!

The resiliance of nature never fails to inspires me, after all the wailing about “destroying the planet” we have to suffer from the global warming brigade it’s nice to know that they are wrong in one big way, and that is the misconception that we kill this planet, no we wont we will evicted by the land lord ie dear old mother Earth, it’s a typical arrogant human trait to elevate our importance in the web of life, true we have and are doing massive damage but nature will take back what’s left and in 10 thousand years you wouldn’t even know humans were ever her.0

I have been inspired by quite a few people on my journey through life and that is why I try to make an effort to help others and not think about myself too much. I realise that I may well be in a similar position in the future.
Quite honestly, to date, I have absolutely nothing to get low and depressed about yet and am very grateful for that.
I am continually humbled by some people I know and don't know very well because I am very aware of what they have to contend with or are going through 24/7 and how unselfish, loving and helpful they are, to others, along with their cheerfulness and smiley personna.
Luv

Hi Everyone
My brother that died on Christmas day was my inspiration/
He was told a year before, that he would never eat or drink again can you imagine never tasting food again, but he never moaned, and when I visited would ask had I had anything to eat to keep my strengh up.
when he died you were all there for me, so you are now my inspiration, and one lady in particular was sendind me PMs every day, I had know idea what she had gone through and was going through, I was quite new to this site, the lady is Trish like Ange says she will go mad at us but we don't care we love her to pieces.

Hi Linda,
My Nan inspired me so much, she was very ill and yet never let it get her down, she would do anything for anyone and I never hared her say a nasty thing about anyone except to say as a general people from the next village were 'funny over there' (she was very Cornish and we can be tribal ) Trish is also definitely inspirational Cris x0 -
A friend of mine who has been in a wheelchair for more than 30 years. Multiple problems including a colostomy, a catheter and being on continual morphine via an internal pump. He's paraplegic.
I have never seen him anything but unfailingly cheerful and happy and thinking of him often makes me feel thoroughly ashamed of myself.
.....and now, in addition, TRISH! Who else?
