Hi well I took the advice about Prozac and spoke to my GP about it. It can cause problems with other drugs that I take (amitrip/Tramadol) but she said that I was sensible enough to take them together and stop if needed to. Well to my amazement i have felt very well, the best for along time. Maybe it is all phycological and it takes weeks to get into your system. I feel good now and am quite pleased that some of our group suggested this for me. I still have some days when I am unable to do anything but as we all know thats how it is. Well thanks I feel better at the moment :D:D:D:D:D

    Hi John,

Very pleased for you that you had a word with your gp and are feeling so much better for being on the prozac. Long may that last for you.

Don't overdo it now, will you :)

    Luv
    Elna x
The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

Hi, I think I read somewhere that its the Serotonin from the anti-depressant that has an effect on the pain, a bit like how amatrip is supposed to work, but I'm not sure about that! Very glad you are feeling better! Hope it carries on woring for you. Love Sue

I am glad that you are feeling more positive - that is great news.

As to whether it is psychological or the meds - does it really matter as long as you are feeling brighter?

hope you continue to feel such a positive improvement - but don't get down if you have the odd 'down' day - we all have them with or without the drugs

Hi, I take Venflaxine (sp???) which is one of the same family, I don't know if it works, as I've been taking it a while and don't know how I'd feel without it! I was very low when I started taking it, but that is a lot better, I think. I'd rather take medication than feel awful, I know that their are things like depencancy and other side effects, but I'm willing to risk them to lead a normalish life. Its my choice, made with the doctor, of course, shes fine with me taking it.
