After decades of suffering from constant debilitating arthritis pain, which some days made it almost too painful to get out of bed or engage in my hobby of golf, I am at last cured. I say this after over three months of not so much as a twinge of pain.
I constantly experimented with everything - physio, diet, magnets etc. The list was almost endless.
Finally I isolated two causes of all my pain - coffee and alcohol. I have now been off both for six months, and for my regular cuppa now drink chicory which is almost as pleasant as coffee.
I am not saying that this remedy will work for anyone else, simply that it totally worked for me.
If I can help one person then joining this forum to make this one post will have been more than worthwhile.
Goodbye and good luck!

Wow, I wish it was so easy for all of us.
I love coffee and alcohol so am not prepared to give them up totally at this moment in time. Two cups of coffee during the day, keep me awake and see me through the day and a glass of wine or a beer whilst making the dinner, chills me out.
At the moment, I feel that everything in moderation is good, for me.
I wish you all the very best,

Hi,
That's amazing and I am so pleased for you. I don't drink and I don't really do coffee but I do tea and I don't think I could give it up....... I need it drip fed but well done for finding something that's helped you so much. Take care Cris
Hi Elna,
Would you like a coffee and hope your dong ok? Luv and a ((( ))) Cris x0 -
WOW. Whose fairy godmother was she?
If it was that easy we'd all have been cured years ago, in fact, arthritis would never have been heard of
Also, I only drink alcohol at the weekends and don't drink much coffee and I'm just the same all the time with fluctuating days of good and bad, weekend, week day makes no difference ......maybe it's just this particular will-o-the-wisp had an allergy.
I'd be interested to know whether it works for anyone else.

Delighted that someone out there has 'cured' their arthritis but can't help but be a little (al lot) sceptical about the 'cure'. ''
I don't drink coffee and very very rarely have any alcohol due to meds but have never heard of anyone being relieved never mind cured by diet alone(':?:')
Pity the author hasn't stayed with us to tell us a bit more about the diagnosis/ type of arthritis s/he had, extent of arthritic damage and the meds and treatments previously tried.
Sorry guys to be such a 'doubting Thomas'....but am finding this hard to believe.':?'''
Such a 'breakthrough' is worth an entry in the BMJ surely. ahem.?! ':?'''
anyway, doubting it as I do...I would still wish good luck to anyone who finds something that works for them. Iris x0 -
I don't drink tea or coffee and I probably only drink alcohol 3 times a year, if that!0

If only it were that simple.I would give up anything to get back to a normal life!
I have been told cutting out tomatoes, mushrooms, spuds also has the same effect and red wine is good for R.A.
But scrambled eggs really do lessen my nausea with MTX!That one works for me.

Oh dear, I hope there arn't any newbies reading this, while I wish this person all the good wishes I can muster, I am not convinced.
I spent about 2 years praying that mine was reactive arthur, and that I would fully recover and be my old mad dash about self, I now know that it was not and I have my meds for the rest of my life.
Every individual on this earth is different (Thank the Lord) and what works for one will not work for another.
If you are a newbie please listen to your doctor as well as trying a diet change.

Well said Linda
Although I wish it worked for me

Don't drink coffee and very little alcohol- but then again if you breast fed for so many months (my lot totalled years!!!), if you stay away from citrus fruits etc.etc.etc If this has worked for this person well fair play to you and I'm glad you are feeling better. As for me been there, done that and can't get into the T-shirt any more and sorry none of these things have worked for me0

Goodbye and good luck!
And Good Luck to you too, but why Goodbye in the same breath? Surely, it would be more helpful, to let the people - very intelligent, caring people - on the forum ask you questions.0 -

Who diagnosed you with arthritis in the first place. Perhaps it was wrong and something else.
I can just see the new type of Disability Living Allowance Claim Forms.
Please can you tell us how many cups of coffee you drink
Do you drink.
Surely they will add these to questions about smoking.
They could refuse you DLA purely on the 'grounds' of being a coffee drinker.
joy
sorry about the pun.0 -
I'm wouldn't expect this to be a cure but they could well be triggers for flares. Both coffee (not caffeine) and alcohol trigger my autoimmune blood problems. Sadly, avoiding them, as I do, doesn't improve arthritis.0

I should really ignore this post but I personally feel quite insulted that someone should join this forum to as they state, make this ONE post which may raise unrealistic hopes to others in continual pain and poor health.
Why have they not welcomed questions as to their own diagnosis and miracle cure?

I've talked to someone who says she has 'cured' her inflammatory arthritis after going to a nutritionist and eating a diet excluding wheat and the other obvious ones, tomatoes, aubergines and potatoes.
She is a very intelligent woman so I do not doubt that she had an illness though I don't know exactly what type of inflammatory arthritis she had, whether she went into remission at the same time, whether she was misdiagnosed or just has a wheat allergy. It has piqued my interest though. Worth a try maybe? Anyone read Diet and Arthritis by Dr Gail Darlington?

Well Just Fancy That
"After decades of suffering from constant debilitating arthritis pain, which some days made it almost too painful to get out of bed or engage in my hobby of golf,"
"Constant Debilitating Arthritis Pain"
"Cant Get Out Of Bed"
Yet Still Playing Golf!!!
And its a miracle Coffee and Drink are the culprits, maybe too much of the stuff eh!!
And then a GOODBYE.
Well if it only were so simple!!!
How Lucky are you

I've just come onto this topic now and it does seem a bit far fetched....I know we will try all sorts of "miracle cures"but this????
Well if it really did work for you and it really was arthur
Good Luck...
I dont drink....but I'm not giving up my coffee LOL

I have just read on an arthritis diet website that:
Drink just water: If you give up coffee, soft drinks and even alcohol, you will feel like you are 10 years younger in 3 weeks.
I would put this posting in the same hello/goodbye bin.

Hi there. Thanks for the advice. I find that alcohol makes my symptoms worse. Even though I hardly ever drink. I will try giving up coffe and see if that makes any difference.sanderslongdrive wrote:After decades of suffering from constant debilitating arthritis pain, which some days made it almost too painful to get out of bed or engage in my hobby of golf, I am at last cured.
