That one has also been flagged as a 'cure' for diabetes, too. Couldn't bring myself to try it!

Websites claim apple cider vinegar benefits everything from cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes, obesity, arthritis, migraines, gout, HIV to heart disease, and that it even halts the ageing process.

Three apple cider vinegar marketers warned to curb claims. The FDA (Federal Drugs Authority, USA) has warned three Internet marketers of apple cider vinegar tablets to stop making claims that their products are effective against various diseases.
    http://www.ncahf.org/digest03/03-30.html

The three sets of claims were that:
Suggesting that its products are useful for arthritis, osteoperosis [sic], and sore throats.
Claiming that their pills can relieve arthritis pain, fight infection, fight osteoporosis, control cholesterol, help people with high blood pressure, and relieves sore throats, laryngitis, and nasal congestion.
Suggesting that her pills are useful against arthritis, prostate problems, multiple sclerosis, and high cholesterol levels.

This one has been around a long time.

I tried Cider Vinegar in the Summer for 5-6 weeks it was unpleasant and dont know if it worked or not because in the Summer I didnt really have much trouble with my OA. Suppose I should have tried it in the Winter when it is.

I think it is wrong that some websites say it is a cure because it can give some the promise of an immediate cure. But I think it is worth trying and will keep checking the thread to see if it helps others.

Last year when in hospital having a knee op. one of the nurses told me to try cider vinegar and honey. She said she knew several people who had benefited from it, but I haven't tried it myself.

Thanks Joseph - I should have searched for 'cider vinegar' instead of honeygar :) Can mods merge threads?

I reckon if there's a delay in establishing what brand of arthritis I have and therefore what meds i need, then i might try this in the interim.

I'm fed up taking nurofen all the time- though i guess vinegar in large quantities is probably just as bad for your stomach. I'm an utter skeptic though, but i won't knock it till it try it.

Maybe you feel so sick and awful from drinking the potion you forget the pain for a little while... :x  Love Sue
Ps Viniger is also supposed to clean everything from windows to drains, I think it is supposed to be good for glass, but I've not tried it as I don't have much in....

Not as far as I know, but it could create problems as people looked for the original threads. We just put another posting on the end to bump to the top and post on the original to say. Seems to work.

You can always give anything a try, just be a bit careful with cost as there are many cons out there. But also a few pluses!

    Hi

I tried it for a couple of weeks but frankly it did nothing for the pain etc. My MIL drinks it every day - she's lively and full of energy. At the moment she's got a heavy cold/cough. However, I don't think it's a cure for arthur. It doesn't taste bad at all. A teaspoon or two of cider vinegar and a bit more of honey into a glass of warm or cold water.

I'm sure there have been posts about this in the past.

Yeah, seems like if there was some truth in it, there would have been some studies done. Oh well.
(currently reading 'Bad Science' by Ben Goldacre - i should know better now then to believe a story in the paper re: a miracle cure :))
