Hi, I've got a day of it today! Seeing my GP this morning, to discuss my funny leg, (red, itchy, patch) and also that I haven't heard from the hospital yet, regarding being referred to neuro. I know it takes time, but it must be about 2 months or so. Christmas, I suppose.

This afternoon, I have to see my 'employment advisor' to see what I want to do about work, even though I have been told I'm not fit for work. Still, they seemed nice the first time I went, and didn't really do more than go through the motions and say I wasn't well enough!

Still, its tiring and I don't feel like it today. :? A few more hoops to jump through! I should be ready for the oylimpics at this rate, Gold Medel in hoop jumping, a few people here would beat me, I think! Love Sue

    Hi Sue
You will be glad when it's all done won't you? Just think how releived you will be to get home at the end of the day.
Serioulsly i hope the doc can help with that rash - I don't like the sound of it and he should chase up that neuro - I remeber you mentioning it to us ages ago.
As for the employment - as you said it's just one of those hoops eh?

    I will think of you
    Love
    Toni xx

Hello, I'm back and just about thawed out enough to type! Seriously though, I went to see my GP and she thinks my leg is a type of eczema, made worse by scratching and the cold weather. I've just got to keep it moisturised with E45. I asked about the neuro and the hospital appointments. She knew nothing about it!!! :( All she had was a letter from the senior reg saying that the carpel tunnel was partly sucessful??? But I still had some numbness, the ulner nerve was damaged according to the tests but still responding normally??? The consultant had examined it and been happy for the rheumatologist to carry on for 3 months?? (I don't now who he's carrying on with but it isn't me) As they discharged me last year it seems a bit odd! No mention of the x-ray of the hands. She did mention that the consultant was concerned that my finger, don't know which one, was weak, but no suggestions apart from examining things again in 3 months which is on the 2nd of March and then they will assess what the rheummy has suggested. I did used to know one, but thats in another life! No mention of neurology. Anyway, my GP thinks I should phone the consultants Secretary and see if they can sort it all out. My GP is supposed to be able get into the hospital records via the computer, but it wasn't working today.

As for the employment advisor, he'd only been in post 2 weeks and his trainer hadn't turned up. He asked me how many jobs I'd applied for and how much Jobseekers allowance I got. I explained the position and he said that he was sorry, but he didn't now why they'd sent me. I tried to explain, but he gave me another appointment for a months time! Sorry to go on whinging and moaning, you have to laugh really, or you'd cry! Phone calls tomorrow Love Sue

    Sue,

It really is pathetic that you have to go back for another employment meeting. If you didn't laugh you would cry!

I do hope you get some clarification from the consultant. It seems to happen a lot that you have to chase these things themselves.

    Good luck for tomorrow.

Good grief, Sue, you must be aching all over from laughing! This kind of thing beggars belief - I hope you get on to that secretary asap. It sounds as if you've been mixed up with someone else.

Can't really offer any advice, except to say keep on laughing........

Hello, Apparently this is to do with the Governments new 'Back to Work' or whatever its called thing. In order to claim ESA or Jobseekers you have to attend 6 interviews with an Advisory Officer, who will help you into a suitalbe job or training if you don't qualify for ESA when you have the medical. Well, the first time I went, I hadn't had a medical, this appointment was made before I'd had a medical if i fail the medical I'll appeal as I have to sort out my treatment and don't know when, if or what I will be fit to do. Thats my understanding of how the system works, but then the dwp state that the medical process will be over within 13 weeks - I applyed last June! Still the poor guy that interviewed me had only been working for 2 weeks so I did'nt give him a hard time, its not his fault.
The worst thing was I drove 6 miles on snowy lanes and walked across an icey car park, I put my splints on as I was frightened I'd fall, even with my stick! Never mind.
I'm tired and I'm glad I can have a quiet day tomorrow.

Thanks for all the messages, lots of love Sue

Hi Sue,I have had 5 appointments with the adviser and on the last 3 i have been contacted by phone as i was too ill to attend, can you ask your adviser if they can contact you by phone (mine is very nice and said she doesnt usualy do this but would make an exception as i was in a lot of pain at the interview). best wishes, Jules :P

Hi, I feel really tired and depressed today - I think yesterdays outings took it out of me, especially driving in the ice and snow and walking on it! I put my wrist braces on to walk outside with, as the car park was a sheet of ice, I thought they wound help it I did fall!

Anyway, I phoned the consultants secretary earlier, but she couldn't find out anything as the hospital computer is down, but she took all the details and said she would look into it and phone me back as soon as possible.

Why is nothing straight forward? All I want is to get sorted and not have to worry about chasing people around, making phone calls and remembering all sorts of strange explanations and words! Even writing them down can be hard!!!
Sorry, a moan and I don't want to moan I'm too tired, & I'm sure no one wants to read a whinging story.
    Take care, love Sue xxx

Hi, Just had a phone call from the Consultants Secretary, (the plastic surgeon) It seems that she can only find the letters that my doctor has and can't track anything down! She said that she thinks they want to discuss things with me at my next appointment on the 1st of March, I'm so fed up with going from pillar to post and back again! :? Why is nothing simple?

My husband picked up my prescription last night and I had ordered all my pills, but they only sent a few of one sort. When I rang the docs, she said that is was because I had to have a review, told her that I had a review on Monday, and the pills were ordered after that, so she looked again and said it was the review that had interferred with the new computer system and they had sent another prescription to the chemist. I rang the Chemist, and they said that they had held the script back as they didn't have my HRT patches. I asked why they didn't give my husband the other items and they said they would if we went in today!!!
Am I paranoid or are they out to get me!!!
Sorry to moan on.... Love Sue xxx
