After coughing badly and breathing issues for 7 weeks have been suspended from taking methotrexate (Methoject) until the result of a chest x-ray due anytime now. I had the x-ray last week but actually stopped the medication 3 weeks ago. Feeling much better and this has gradually happened during the time not taking it. Joints ok and it's nice not getting the hot moments! This, of course, could have been a virus but Methotrexate can cause lung inflamation. When I resume, if I can/do, will see how I feel then.

    Hi Jojo

Pleased to read that you are feeling better, after that horrid 7 week blip, since coming off the metho. Hope you get a favourable chest xray result back soon.

Let us know how you get on, look after yourself and keep warm,

    Luv

Hi, GP 'phoned to say that the chest x-ray was clear so :) that was good news. Back to injecting with Methotrexate and to be honest have enjoyed not being on it for 3 weeks. Probably in the long term I would have missed it!!!

    Hi jojo12,

I have been on methotrexate for a year now . On 20mg, but I do find I get stomach upsets and cramps. Do the injections have any side effects on digestive system ?

Originally I was on 20mg per week of Methotrexate a like you did get some stomach issues when I first started it, but mainly sore mouth ulcers and I was then prescribed Methoject and could go down to a lower dose, 15mg. ulcers now only occasionally and have been prescribed oral steriods to gargle with when this happens. Hope your stomach problems get better.
