we went for jordan's appointment today to see the consultant and she was really lovely to jordan so gentle and kind she said that she could not feel any imflamation but said that it,s not unusual for symptoms not to be felt if you get what i mean :? .I explained the pain he was in and she has now put him on diclofenic as it is a better antiimflamatory than ibrufin, he has also had more blood tests done and goes back to the hospital on monday to see how he is.She said that he may have to go on some other medication but wants to see how he goes first, but all in all i am quite pleased with how things went.We also met the nurse practitioner today and she will also see him on monday as well as the physio so a busy da y for jordan and another day off school  i am sure i will get into trouble soon for all the time off for these appointments but still as long as he's getting treated i don't care.

    HI
I'm glad to hear that your appointment seems to have been so positive.

As an ex teacher I'd say that as long as you keep the school fully informed of what is happening and when he will be off for medical appointments, they should be more than happy - it is in their interests too that he gets appropriate treatment - after all we cannot learn well if we are in pain!

    hope the treatment helps

    Hi jenny,

So pleased that Jordan's appointment went so well today!...

you sound greatly relieved.........take some time to look after yourself too..........with all the stress of worry and anxiety about Jordan it's easy to overlook your own needs.

I know you also have Bursitis that is causing you a lot of pain...hope that eases soon. Iris x.

Hello, I'm so glad to hear that Jordens appointment went so well for him and you, it makes a big difference for you both and may help him be a positive person about going to doctors!!! :) As for time off school, my husband works at a secondary school and as long as they know whats going on, they don't mind. His wellbeing should be the important factor for them. Does he have a form teacher or someone that you could make an appointment and go and see, to explain the problems? It may help them to understand his schooling and any problems he has, also they may be able to tell you about his behaviour at school. I don't mean being naughty! I mean if he runs around with the others and does PE, or if he is quiet and has pain.

Sorry, I'm sounding like an old fuss pot, but I do know, from what I hear from Jerry, that school like to know about these things and then they can understand things and give him the best care.

    Love to you both, Sue
