Got my ESA approved today,accepted from 23 Dec received,for nearly 3 weeks......wait for it......£9.19p!!!!

Whats all that about....how shall i spend it all?will it change my life?

Think i will ring them on Monday,will let you know what happened a030.gif

    Woo hoo! Wow, all that money... You could splash out and buy yourself a nice takeaway but don't go overboard with all this spending will you!!!?

    LOL!!!.....It reminds of the time I got a payrise....long letter from the company saying how well i'd done and because of that they were giving me a payrise.....wait for it.....1p an hour.......

    seriously though....i thought the old incapacity benefit was about £60 per wk, whys esa so low? also thought if you had worked you got a set amount like jsa and didnt matter if partner worked etc

    Hi, Thats my understanding of the way it works - I am going through the horrible process of claiming it at the moment. Sounds like some sort of mistake.

    The only time that you don't get the set amount is if you hav'nt paid enough insurance to receive the full money and in that case they do it on a means tested way. Taking into account the income of your partner, your savings ect.

    Your right....its £64.50 a week.They wanted loads of paperwork to claim it though.Sick note,medical retirement certificate,pensions info and my dogs inside leg (ok,i made the last one up!) :roll:

    Spoke to ESA this morning,had a laugh with lady about the amount...apparently the computer ''slots'' you in and this odd amount came up.
    She told me i will be ''slotted in'' twice again this week with the correct amount.It was quite a pleasant phone call and so far my dealings with them have been painless.
    Just shows that you don't need to rant and rave all the time,of course if i don't get my money............... d030.gif
