Hi I have OA and get very tired during the day. By tea time, I pick up the paper and start to read it, then my eyes close.
The next thing I know and its an hour or so later!

I asked my doctor, in the early days, when it started, and he said that what did I expect? I wasn't sleeping properly at night, pain makes you tired and so do pain killers. The best thing is to have a sleep, then feel a bit better in the evening! I still manage to go to sleep holding a cup of tea, and wake up when it spills down my lap!!!

    Hi Wendylou

Yes, tiredness appears to go hand in hand with arthritis. some days, weeks worse than others, for me. Some days and weeks really good. I sometimes think it can depend on how one feels mentally too. If I am a little down then I am more tired/lethargic but perhaps that is just me. We have to learn to try and pace ourselves which none of us find easy because when you feel ok, you do so much more, sometimes without even thinking about it.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

    Hi Wendylou
Sorry about the exhaustion/tiredness, I can give you the same answer as everyone else, join the club.

I've got to admit that I seem to have got the right cocktail and if I take my meds (24mg Candisartin(blood pressure), 1 150 gm Tramadol SR and 150 to 300 mg Pregabelin, I can go to bed and go immediately to sleep. Then sleep anything from 4 - 6 hr without stirring. The Candesartin has a sedative in also, because I do suffer from very high blood pressure.

However, in order to do that I have to make sure I don't nap too often in the day. when I am feeling really bad, then I can nod off for an hour or two during the day and still sleep at night.

If I sit in my chair too long and upon waking in the morning, I can hardly walk, it is so painful, from my toes to my fingertips. Everything hurts. I'm fairly OK once I get going and then have to keep going so I don't sieze up again. How does one get it right? I have just managed to finish a pile of ironing and I'm exhausted. I think the OH can get the tea tonight.

    Joy

I am also a member of this club. It amazes me that I can wake up tired. I am hoping to go back to work and I can only imagine how I will feel then?
