HI Jennac,
I take Methotrexate injections, and about 6 months ago they added in Leflunomide. The MTX was not enough on its own, and I needed something else.
For me there have been positives and negatives, but the positives are winning at the moment!!
Leflunomide can upset your stomach at first (I was warned about this in advance by my rheumy nurse) which was a bit tricky, but after abotu 2 weeks on 10mg a day I started to overcome that problem - it does seem to get better as your body gets used to itI also find that if my stomach does suffer, the co-codamol I take helps out because that usually bungs me up
My only other problems came when they upped the dose of lef to 20mg - it was too much for me in combo with the 20mg of MTX. I got lots of infections one after another and loads of mouth ulcers. They lowered both doses and at the mo I take 15mg MTX weekly & 10 mg leflunomide daily.
You might find that it takes a while to adjust your meds so that they are in balance, but from my personal experience it is well worth the effort and perseverance!
best of luck!0 -

There was a recent thread about Leflunomide very recently. Perhaps you could look it up.
Meanwhile I have been on it for about 8 weeks. Take it as night so if you suffer feeling sick, it should have passed by the morning. I wish you well on it.
