Has anyone else seen this article? Absolutely disgusting. Why are my taxes worth less than those paid in Scotland? Where do these people get off determining what is and what isn't too expensive, for a chronic, lifelong condition???

Here are the NICE contact details, I urge you to write and complain directly to them:

I feel very strongly about this, its good enough for the PLP government to support the bankers with public money, but why not arthritic sufferers?

It doesn't seem a just way to support the population when put against pain and suffering, does it?

I would urge everyone to use their vote in the ballot box on May 6th. Get rid of this farcical government

    8) It's a grin, honest! well, it used to be.....

That's pretty disgusting. It makes me sick that we live in one of the 'rich' countries but we still 'can't' (read: won't) afford to treat our sick. I bet if Gordon Brown or David Cameron's wives had arthritis NHS fund allocations would be a lot different.

But on the plus side - yay for Scotland. We are the best, and you all know it ;) You should all move up here!

Hi, its pretty disgusting, why we should suffer here in England.
I think its a good idea for us to write to NICE and yes I will be doing so.

I live only 2 miles from the Scottish border!, Sometimes i think I should sell this house and move a couple of miles, people in Scotland seem to get a much better deal on everything.

I agree that it is disgusting that some people get treatment and others don't. But because Scotland has got the approval this does not mean everyone will be automatically prescribed, this is down to your GPs practice and whether they deem they can afford this treatment or not.

What do the people in Scotland get a better deal on?

We pay taxes in Scotand too, quite a considerable amount in my case.

I read that article and thought it scandalous. The money the government would save by having well and active people rather than someone at home dependant on help must far outway the cost. Never mind the social aspect of isolation from a debilitating illness and the health consequences for an individual who cannot exercise. (I know about those as late mother was housebound and it had an enormously negative impact on all of us but most of all for her. She had osteo very badly and could hardly walk towards the end of her life.)

I will be writing to Nice.

Because Scottish Government is heavily subsidised by the UK taxpayer, therefore we pay for the Scots to get it while we are denied.

This myth has outlived its welcome! Where does all the revenue from oil and whiskey go ..... LONDON!!! What do we get in return ..... this abuse.

    One very angry Scot

  Now, now, this bickering is not going to get anyone, anywhere. Those that feel strongly about it will write to NICEand anywhere else thought appropriate. We should use our energy doing that, not upsetting one another.

I would certainly not begrudge a Scot for getting a drug that could potentially improve their quality of life. However, it does seem unfair that we're not treated equally, when we pay our taxes too.

This is to do with NICE. Why shouldn't Scotland have it? We should have it too, that's all.

My partner is scotish we often have disagreements about this kind of thing the point is i feel hard done by being english! Will i move to scotland no even though my partner wants to me!

I'm glad Scotland have it (and I really hope it's a good drug) but you're right, we should too.

This goes beyond the prescription of drugs for ill health, how did a UNITED Kingdom ever have a government that allows this to happen?

Surely it will cost more to support those that don't have the best treatment?
