Firstly thanks to all who have sent me reply's. it helps me realise i'm not so strange. lol. i'm having lots of pain at the moment. last night was particularly bad. woke in the night with awful pain in my lower back and knees, not to mention the usual in my hands and feet. i'm not sure if i'm having a bit of a flare up. if i get in touch with my rheumy nurse is there anything can be done for flare ups or is it a case of increasing my pain killers and waiting?? doesn't really help cos OH is away at the moment so i'm running a home, looking after my 9 year old and working!!! feel like i could do with a week off but don't want to give in, you never know if i might need time off even more in the future.... how long do flare up's tend to last or is that a silly question??

Hi Paula sorry to hear you have a lot of pain right now, I have OA and I get flares with it but I never know how long they will last, I had one the other day and it only lasted a few days, others I have had have been longer, the best way for me to cope with them is to do as little moving as possible. It was a lot of trial and error for me over quite a few months before I found what best fits. Sorry I can't be of more help to you.

    Hi Paula
Yes def increase pain meds if you can safely. If it gets really bad ring rehumy nurse as they could try something else like steroids or something.
Flares vary - I hope yours is a short one :)
    Take care
    Love
    Toni xx

Once again thanks to those who replied to me. well i took your advice and called my rheumy nurse who agreed ht arthritis is probably active at the moment so she advised me on a medication plan to help me cope until i see the consultant next month. looks like they will be increasing my metho which is cool, just want some relief..... lets hope things settle down soon. x
