Woke up again at 3.30 this morning and was absolutely roasting. My t shirt was soaking wet and the sweat was quite literally pouring off me. My back was aching like mad so I had to get up adn walk around to ease it. Only this is I am absolutely shattered and cant seem to wake up. I seem to be relying on a lot of coffee lately jsut to keep myself alert enough for every day activities.
I had a huge flare up over the new year but although the pain has gone and come back now and then the flare up doesnt quite want to go in full.
Any suggesstions??

Poor you. Enough is enough, I would suggest you seek help. This latest flare of yours has dragged on now, for far too long. If you do not see let someone in the medical world know, no one will be aware how bad you are and have been.

I do hope something gets sorted for you soon. You really have been and are suffering terribly.

sorry, silly question but do you have sugar in your coffee? i only ask because when i was having a bad flare i to drank lots of coffee, but i also enjoyed the odd mug of hot chocolate, until i discovered the artificial sweetener in the chocolate was actually causing some of the flare!
so just thought i'd check if you use any artificial sweeteners?

i hope you feel better soon and i hope you don't mind me asking?!

I agree with this, artificial sweeteners should be avoided, particularly aspartame.

I believe they were responsible for some of the stomach probs I was having last year.

    Hi
No I dont take sugar in my coffee and eat healthily too so dont think it is drink / food.

I have ' seronegative spondyloaropthy' the rheumy is treating me for AS but he is not 100% sure yet do hasnt given a formal diagnosis.

If it happens again tonight i'll go and see my gp tomorow.
I also found out today that i'll be seeing the rheumy nurse and not the consultant on monday too. can she still change the meds i am on?? i dont think they are helping at all and am desperate to try something that will in fact benefit me.

Hello Sorry you are having so much trouble - not getting enough sleep is hard to cope with I'd think that its something the Rheummy nurse will be able to help you with.
    Good luck! love Sue

Absolutly Horrid! Oh, it sounds like you still have `flar up' and good advice from people here about getting your bloods checked - there are a lot of viruses out there that are taking months to get rid off and if you contracted one of these.....we (mum and self) have to have electric fans on in our bedrooms 24/7 & 365 to keep the air moving around, which we have found reduces the fever. We have to have the heating on this time of the year because of joints and will have the windows ajar slightly for oxygen. Its realy hard to get this atmosphere correct. Too hot and we are sweating and coughing with dry air. Too cold and we feel like hell. So we use fans which are available from every elctrical supplier all year round even if they are not on display. I dont know about you, but I have DVD players, CD players, computers and books/newspapers/mags galore to fall back on all the time, all through the night. Its hard I know. Hang in there kid! Heather xxx
