Hello,
I have psoriatic arthritis and I am about to go for my second das assessment and hopefully start the injections soon.
What I have noticed in the last few months is pain in my Coccyx / pain in bottom of spine, is this common or could it be something total different.
Any thoughts.
Cheers
Richard

Hiya
I've just been diagnosed with PsA (the spondy type) and coccyx pain was one of my major complaints. The consultant said to me it was quite normal when it affected around your spine - doesnt make it less annoying though.
Hope that helps

Hi,
I attended A&E last night because of pain right at the bottom of spine. (coccyx). Unfortunately where I live A&E is closed at night so there is only a glorified GP service. I was given codine for the pain and hope to bring it up with my Rheumy Nurse.
This pain occurs every so often and when it does it can last for weeks. I have pain all the time 24/7 either sitting, moving, standing etc. It is worse when I sit down as it feels like there's pressure. How do I go about getting the nurse, consultant or GP to take notice and not just fob me off with tablets even though Im glad to get painkillers.
Cheers

I al also in agony in this area. My Doc has examined me and I have no muscle at all to provide cushioning, also a bit thin at the moment. I have been told they can do nothing and to invest in some comfy cushions.

Hi
I too get pain in my coccyx and I find that a hot water bottle really helps me. I lie with the water bottle under me at the base of my spine or try sitting on it but dont use too much water, I burst 1 once as i had over filled it lol I hope this helps
